Avnet Appoints LatAm Vice President

Avnet Technology Solutions, has promoted Eduardo Barron to vice president of Avnet Technology Solutions, Latin America and the Caribbean.

In his new role, Barron will be responsible for developing and executing the operating group’s strategy in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as managing the region’s operations.

Barron previously served as the vice president and general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, Mexico. He succeeds Sergio Farache, who was recently promoted to lead the solutions and strategy team for Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas.

Eduardo’s commitment to operational excellence, employee development and accelerating success for our partners and suppliers will be a valuable asset to the Latin America and Caribbean region.”

Barron has more than 20 years of IT experience, and has been with Avnet since 2007. Barron played a pivotal role in Avnet’s acquisition of Tallard Technologies and in introducing Avnet’s SolutionsPath methodology into Mexico, which is designed to help partners specialize in high-growth markets such as storage, retail and healthcare.

Prior to leading the Mexico team, Barron served as the IBM solutions director for Avnet Technology Solutions in Mexico, where he strengthened relationships with partners and grew the business in software and services. Barron also held a variety of positions at Sun Microsystems before joining Avnet, including educational services country manager and channel manager.
