Avnet Names GM for Mexico

Technology distributor Avnet Technology Solutions has promoted Jorge Tsuchiya to general manager, Mexico. He will be responsible for developing and executing the operating group’s strategy in-country, driving local sales and leading operations.

Tsuchiya was named to this role following Eduardo Barron’s recent appointment to vice president, Avnet Technology Solutions, Latin America and the Caribbean.

“Jorge has continually shown dedication and commitment to driving growth for Avnet, as well as our partners and customers,” said Barron. “He has distinguished himself by focusing on strategic growth, cultivating relationships and leading high-performing teams. This has had a positive impact on the business, and Jorge’s recent promotion is a testament to his commitment to accelerating the success of Avnet and our partners.”

Tsuchiya brings more than 20 years of professional experience in the IT industry, including roles with Red Uno/Telmex, 3Com, NextiraOne, and Polycom. He began his career at Avnet in 2010 as sales director for the converged business unit in Mexico, forming and managing a team that drove strong relationships with suppliers such as Avaya and Polycom. Following that, Tsuchiya helped Avnet’s suppliers and partners grow their businesses as the director of the Converged Infrastructure business unit in Mexico, which includes its Cisco, EMC and NetApp businesses.
