CA to Acquire BlazeMeter to Beef Up DevOps

Tech distributor CA Technologies has signed a deal to acquire BlazeMeter, which provides open source-based continuous application performance testing solutions.

Terms of the acquisition are not disclosed, and the transaction is expected to close by year end.

The acquisition expands CA’s Continuous Delivery capabilities and DevOps portfolio. Specifically, CA believes that BlazeMeter’s solutions will help enable CA’s customers to use open source-based continuous performance testing to release applications more quickly, at higher quality, with better user experiences and lower costs.

In today’s application economy, organizations often are still struggling to keep pace with peers due to bottlenecks in the application testing process – a challenge that can force them to have to choose between faster releases or optimal application performance.

“BlazeMeter has redefined performance testing with its simplicity, fast-deployment SaaS model, and rapid time-to-value,” said Ayman Sayed, president and chief product officer, CA. “The acquisition will reinforce our leadership position in continuous testing, and our efforts to democratize performance testing as organizations accelerate their DevOps journey to drive speed and quality in the delivery of new software updates and innovations.”

BlazeMeter’s performance testing solution is fully compatible with Apache JMeter™ as well as other open source software tools like Selenium, Gatling and Locust.

Founded in 2011, BlazeMeter has offices in Tel Aviv and Palo Alto, Calif.
