Cologix Signs OpenDNS as 750th Customer

Cologix, a network-neutral interconnection and data center provider, has partnered with its 750th customer, OpenDNS.

The cloud-delivered security provider has selected Cologix’s new Vancouver data center as the location to deploy a node for its global network.

“OpenDNS has built a global network with over 50 million daily users with unprecedented uptime, performance and security innovations that have forever changed the way businesses and consumers experience the Internet,” said Dan Hubbard, CTO at OpenDNS. “Deploying a node in Vancouver was an important step in supporting our expanding customer base. Cologix’s new data center provides us with the connectivity and reliability we need.”

OpenDNS now connects to Cologix’s VAN 2 facility, the company’s second network-neutral data center in the city. Opened in March 2014, the center provides 15,000 square feet of inventory, N+1 cooling and generators and redundant UPS systems. The facility also offers connectivity to carriers on-site, carriers at 555 W. Hastings St., and direct access to the Vancouver Internet Exchange (VANIX).

“OpenDNS’ services bridge traditional networks and cloud platforms, highlighting the importance of colocation and interconnection through a network-neutral provider,” said Sean Maskell, president of Cologix Canada. “We have built our platform to offer organizations like OpenDNS the connectivity, flexibility and reliability they require, which is why we are especially happy to welcome them as our 750th customer.”
