NetGen Launches YoubiquITy

NetGen Communications, with New Rock Technologies, has launched YoubiquITy, a hosted infrastructure for the use of NetGen’s customers and channel partners.

“This remote-management facility gives the channel partner and ITSPs the infrastructure needed to move telephony deployments to a managed-service business model,” said Cliff Schornak, NetGen’s CTO.

YoubiquITy is included at no charge with the Smart ATA, MX gateways, and OM and WROC PBXs from NetGen.

“All of our PBXs have an included REST API to allow the channel to develop proprietary applications, and YoubiquITy gives the value-adding channel partner the infrastructure needed to deploy those proprietary applications,” said Schornak. “In addition, the PBXs also have an easy-to-use multi-site feature, which can be a challenge when the units are NATed, but not when they are registered with YoubiquITy since it solves those NAT problems without the need for VPNs.  It also handles versioning and automatic firmware upgrades.”

Schornak added: “YoubiquITy allows our customers to provision, monitor with analysis, debug and defeat NAT issues. It virtually eliminates truck rolls since it’s as if your support tech is on site.”

Schornak went on to explain that any New Rock product—ATAs, gateways, PBXs, SBCs, GPON IADs—can be managed by the service provider, the channel, the end user or NetGen support with the establishment of an account and registration of the device, which can be automated for batch-mode configuration.  A token-passing scheme allows access to be controlled.
