Spectralink Builds Out EMEA Presence with MD Hire

Spectralink has appointed Simon Rayne as managing director of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), to further advance its channel strategy and overall presence in the region.

Simon brings deep experience in the European telecom landscape from his recent role with Microsoft Devices & Services. Before that, he served as head of sales retail Europe for Sony Ericsson, and worked extensively with a diverse portfolio of EMEA channel segments. Optimizing the evolving routes to market for mobile devices, Rayne’s experience inn enterprise channel funnel conversion will be instrumental in accelerating Spectralink’s growing global business, the company said.

“I am excited to join Spectralink and look forward to expanding upon its rich history of mobile-device innovation across Europe and the EMEA region,” Rayne said. “As mobile communications devices continue to revolutionize the workplace, I see significant potential for growth in our core verticals of healthcare, retail and beyond.”

This appointment follows continued product and distribution investments to support the EMEA region. By year-end, Spectralink will open a Denmark based distribution center to provide just-in-time shipping, support and delivery of product across the EMEA region. This location will also serve as a repair and return depot to support Spectralink’s EMEA customers’ warranty and maintenance needs. The entire Spectralink product portfolio will ship from this hub, driving accelerated delivery and reduced costs for customers and partners.

“Our expanding investment in EMEA will benefit from the hiring of a seasoned mobile communications executive like Simon,” stated Dan Mondor, CEO of Spectralink. “Simon’s knowledge base and network across EMEA will strengthen our alliance partnerships, expand our reach into new verticals and drive increased customer intimacy.”

He added, “In our just completed Voice of the Customer survey, customers and partners reinforced that voice quality and mobile device durability continue to be their critical buying triggers when selecting mobile communications devices. Our brand legacy is built on this foundation, and this will continue to be a key area of investment as we expand our portfolio of purpose-built devices for the workplace.”
