IT distributor Tech Data has launched its Security and Information Management business unit, which includes the company’s software and network security vendor portfolios.
Tech Data channel partners throughout the Americas will gain access to customer enablement tools, including security assessments and professional services, to build security practices and increase their overall knowledge of the market.
The unit also will deliver technologies based on security, compliance and business goals in the areas of network security, data security, enterprise architecture, endpoint security, security intelligence, application security and cloud security.
“As the number and complexity of cyber threats continue to increase, Tech Data is developing simplified ways for our solution providers to help their customers identify, protect against and respond to this rapidly evolving landscape,” said Brian Davis, the company’s senior vice president, U.S. Marketing. “The cybersecurity market is expected to grow exponentially over the next several years and we are well-positioned, both from a skills and scale perspective, to help our solution providers capitalize on market opportunities and proactively address their customers’ security concerns.”

A 19-year company veteran, Holtz joined Tech Data in 1997 as a member of the company’s credit department, later joining the product marketing department in 2001. She has held positions of increasing responsibility within product marketing over the past 15 years, most recently serving as senior manager of the company’s software business in the U.S. Under Holtz’s leadership, Tech Data’s security team was recently honored by Intel Security as its 2016 Distribution Partner of the Year.
