Cox Business also has invested tens of millions of dollars so far during the COVID-19 epidemic in helping the communities its serves remain stable and connected. “Throughout the pandemic, we’ve been heavily engaged in helping first responders, hospitals and healthcare providers,” Muscarella said. “Trapollo, which is a Cox Business company, has been pioneering a BYOD option to make healthcare even more accessible, while shipping telehealth and medical devices to address COVID-19. In addition, Cox Business has donated over $2.2 million in PPE to 11 hospitals.” Cox Business also has been focused on improving education throughout the pandemic. “We’ve been heavily engaged with public schools, providing solutions for students to work from home through Cox CARES Act Solutions for Educa- tion, a joint residential and Cox Business effort,” Muscarella continued. “We’re also providing internet access to underserved populations that either couldn’t afford it or gain access to it.” In August, Cox Business awarded a $100,000 grant to PCs for People, a nonprofit that will provide discounted computers to low-income families across the company’s nationwide footprint. Cox Business then followed up by announcing a plan to suspend late fees and extend payment relief offerings for customers who can’t pay due to pandemic hardships. This offer will last through June 2021. As Muscarella explained, as a public company, Cox Business’s focus on community and relationships is sometimes overlooked. Yet this is one of its biggest selling points for partners. Cox Business is a big organi- zation that operates with the heart of a small business. “When we work with our agents, we really talk about the commonality of running a private family company,” Muscarella said. “After all, we are a family business as well. We grew up as a family business. In fact, our CEO Alex Taylor is the great grandson of the company’s founder, and the family is still heavily engaged in running Cox Enterprises.” According to Muscarella, this family-centric approach makes Cox Business easy to partner with. “We’re very effective and efficient, from quote to revenue to commission,” Muscarella said. “We have a very small fallout rate from the time when orders are processed to when they are installed. We also have an industry- leading 97 percent installation success rate. And most importantly, we’re here for our agents, especially during these trying times. For example, we’re offering an income security program for agents, where we pay a lump sum commission when they make a sale which helps with cash flow. It helps them take care of their families, run their businesses and remain successful.” Cox Business also has been busy interviewing agents to better understand their business needs and how they have been handling the pandemic. This fall, the company will be highlighting these interviews in a new blog series that will run on the Cox Business Channel Partners LinkedIn page.
