Kelley Drye Partner Chip Yorkgitis and Special Counsel Mike Dover will share insights on pending matters such as broadband expansion efforts, spectrum strategy, supplemental coverage from space, digital discrimination, Section 214 matters and robocall protection rulemakings. They also will offer a forecast of possible new business matters coming before the FCC, with the prospect of a full Commission being in place. But what is the hype all about? This session will discuss what generative AI is, what consumer applications exist for generative AI and the legal and policy issues that users will encounter. Intended for the business audience as much as regulatory personnel, this session addresses the way customers are, and will be, using generative AI and the roadblocks they will encounter in its use. Speaker: Steve Augustino, Partner, Nelson Mullins, Riley & Scarborough 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. Understanding STIR/SHAKEN Guidelines As part of its push to eliminate unwanted/illegal robocalls, the FCC has made it a priority to address gaps in the industry’s robocall mitigation efforts and to enforce industry participation in the STIR/SHAKEN caller ID authentication framework. The FCC has issued a series of orders in recent months and years in an attempt to more fully address these problems. During this workshop, Inteserra Vice President and Consultant Carey Roesel will provide an update on these new regulatory requirements and how to manage shifting responsibilities to remain in compliance. Speaker: Carey Roesel, Vice President and Consultant, Inteserra 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. Broadband Labels: Start Preparing Now Tamar Finn, one of Morgan Lewis’s leading Universal Service Fund (USF) lawyers, will provide an overview of the broadband label requirements and their intersection with the Affordable Connectivity Program data collection obligations. Preparation will include extensive documentation and information technology development. Any entity offering mass market broadband or broadband services in the federal E-rate and Rural Health Care programs, and any entity planning to participate in the upcoming Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program should understand these obligations, as they will be required to comply with them.
