On February 5, the company will begin transitioning VMware to the invitation-only Broadcom Advantage Partner Program. Broadcom completed its $69 billion VMware acquisition in late November, after gaining final regulatory approval from China’s State Administration for Market Regulation. With the acquisition, Broadcom hopes to become one of the world’s leading infrastructure technology companies. However, it’s anyone’s guess as to which VMware partners will be invited along for the ride. Existing VMware partner agreements expire in early February, and partners must apply for the ability to continue offering VMware By Broadcom. According to reports, partners that receive an invitation to join the Broadcom Advantage Partner Program will gain access to simplified partner profitability opportunities through Broadcom’s net margin model. Additional benefits include compensation for renewals, tiered deal registration discounts, performance-based incentives for renewal businesses, simplified certification requirements and free training. Of course, not all partners are expected to receive invitations.
