Those behind the scenes who were running ITEXPO 2024 got a sneak peak of exactly what makes Snom so special in the industry. Now, other trade shows are poised to see Snom’s M900 proof-ofconcept, first-hand. With a hands-on trial of the M900 ecosystem (not just the phone), show-goers can discover the untapped scalability and potential that Snom hardware can bring to their own particular show. What Sets the M900 Apart? The concept is simple. Snom’s M900 can replace traditional mobile device and walkie-talkie systems – upon which most expos tend to rely – with a more stable, scalable, clear and comprehensive system. Upon trying out this collection of products and services, the first noticeable difference is the lack of no-signal “dead” zones at the venue, no matter how widespread the event might actually be. This is because of the Snom M900 DECT’s push-to-talk (PTT) function. With it, users can immediately reach one another in real time without relying on stretched or weak Wi-Fi or cellular signals. DECT – which stands for digital enhanced cordless telecommunications – provides a unique proposition in that it is based on a purpose-built standard that includes stability, improved battery life, a range of security protocols and other unique features. Plus, by relying on base unit coverage instead of Wi-Fi, it is not limited by wireless signal reach, and keeps those networks free for other uses. This makes the Snom M900 far more complete than other offerings on the market. There’s also the M900 system’s atypically good call quality and clarity. At ITEXPO specifically, Snom was able to provide full coverage across the entire expo floor, all up and running in less than a day! This installation specifically included five M900 base units to create the underlying mesh, plus 20 M70 handsets for use by ITEXPO staff. In particular, the M900 multi-cell base station features a multi-cell system that is impact resistant and relies on PoE (power over ethernet) to provide its data connection and the juice necessary to fuel those M70 handsets. Plus, with OTA (over the air) automatic updates, TLS and SRTP security and certified DECT 6.0 use, the M900 system requires minimal setup or maintenance. And, in terms of thresholds, the multi-cell base station can link up with 30 SIP accounts, 1,000 base stations and 30 handsets per base station. As for the M70 devices in ITEXPO staff pockets – or clipped to their pants – these wireless office handsets feature extended battery life (200 hours standby / 17 hours talk time) with support for integrated Bluetooth, vibration alerts and an alarm feature. Plus, there’s an illuminated two-inch color LCD with support for up to three softkeys, as well as a ruggedized exterior capable of sustaining a 6-1/2-foot fall. Of course, just because ITEXPO opted for M70 devices doesn’t mean that was their only option. Other handsets in this family include the M90 (anti-bacterial), M80 (rugged), M30 (traditional office), M85 (industrial) and M65 (professional) devices. Regardless of the products that your expo may choose to rely on, Snom is confident that it has the right custom answer for your needs. For more information, visit www. snomamericas.com.
