Plain old telephone service (POTS) replacement remains in high demand heading into 2025, as global organizations struggle with rising costs, maintenance and liability issues from aging copper lines. According to TELCLOUD, more than one billion global lines are now ready for immediate conversion across multiple industries. Many of these outdated lines still support critical functions such as fire alarms, security systems and emergency lines, putting organizations and end-users at risk from sudden outages. TELCLOUD makes it easy for channel partners to tap into this opportunity and generate recurring revenue with a global whitelabel communications platform as a service (CPaaS) solution that’s purpose-built for POTS replacement. The platform, which is exclusively available to resellers and MSPs, comes with simple setup, wholesale pricing and the ability to seamlessly integrate into any infrastructure. “TELCLOUD is much more than a simple POTS replacement solution,” explained CEO Jake Jacoby. “Resellers can leverage TELCLOUD to rapidly set up their own business and compete directly with other companies that provide POTS replacement services, while retaining the flexibility they need to serve customers. Partners can put their own unique spin on POTS replacement and go to market with their own branding.” The company also offers a way to move critical legacy systems away from unreliable POTS lines without having to rip and replace infrastructure. “POTS lines are going away, but the communication path for those legacy systems is not,” added Jacoby. “Companies can’t easily replace something like a fire alarm system or elevator. Many of these legacy systems will be in place for at least the next 30 years. In the future, when phone lines no longer work, companies will need to have an alternative path in place. By partnering with TELCLOUD, partners can future-proof clients and access ongoing recurring revenue.” TELCLOUD’s proprietary multiWAN technology is designed around the last foot of copper. The company leverages a geographically distributed network, secure point-to-point connections, VoIP, VoLTE and proprietary encrypted data transmissions while guaranteeing 99.999 percent uptime. What’s more, TELCLOUD enables providers to use their own infrastructure. This is a much different approach from competitors in this space are offering. “Our competitors typically have embedded routers, which by nature eliminates the channel play,” Jacoby explained. “TELCLOUD is the only company that empowers channels like Cradlepoint, PepLink, InHand and Digi, giving partners and customers maximum flexibility.” Furthermore, TELCLOUD is the only company that allows carriers to integrate fixed wireless access (FWA) routers with their POTS replacement solutions. “TELCLOUD is the perfect fit for any carrier that is actively trying to sell FWA,” Jacoby said. “This type of deployment calls for a FWA router that’s 4G or 5G-ready – not a POTS box. We are the only company that allows you to leverage a third-party router. The combination of FWA and POTS replacement is a powerful combination and something we’re uniquely positioned to offer.” TELCLOUD is committed to evolving and enhancing its partner ecosystem. In February, Crexendo introduced its POTS Replacement platform powered by TELCLOUD to its community of more than 220 platform partners. And in March, TELCLOUD partnered with CyberProtronics to add quantum encryption security technology on all POTS line phone calls to help reduce the risk of cyberattacks. The company is also expanding globally, with a growing presence throughout North America and Europe and plans for expansion into South America. “Right now there are roughly 130 million lines in the U.S. but over a billion globally,” Jacoby said. “POTS line replacement is a global play, and we can definitely help partners who want to expand their reach into new markets.” o POTS to Profits TELCLOUD’s flexible white label CPaaS solution for POTS replacement opens the door to multiple recurring revenue streams By Gerald Baldino TELCLOUD CEO Jake Jacoby CORE COMMUNICATIONS 58 CHANNELVISION | SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER 2024
