2020 VISIONARY SPOTLIGHT AWARDS | CHANNEL VISION W hen ChannelVision opened nominations for the 2020 Visionary Spotlight Awards (VSA) back in December, nobody could have envisioned what was looming just over the horizon. The world was flipped upside down seemingly overnight due to COVID-19, forcing busi- nesses and service providers to adapt to the “new normal” of remote work. The transition to a remote workforce was no small undertaking, when considering less than 10 percent of the U.S. workforce was remote prior to the pandemic. What transpired during the spring was a rapid acceler- ation for both the cloud and digital transformation, and a rush for fast, reliable and secure connectivity. Throughout the pandemic, the channel has been working tirelessly behind the scenes, helping busi- nesses and end users maintain operational stability despite widespread budget cuts, staffing shortages and project delays. Thanks to the efforts of the chan- nel community, countless organizations have been able to access critical products and services to aid in communication, collaboration, business continuity and cost reductions. ChannelVision is especially proud to announce this year’s 2020 VSA winners, once again recognizing the top communications deployments, products and services across numerous categories. Each year, ChannelVision ’s editors hand pick the winners that best demonstrate creativity, feature set differentiation and forward-thinking ability, as well as the ability to help drive growth. This year, you will notice a fresh VSA format and a few new categories. With a new decade upon us, one that will be driven by big data, digital transfor- mation, software-defined everything and smart connectivity, the 2020 VSAs feature a brand new Overall Excellence award for Digital Transformation and a Business Technology award for Software- Defined Interconnection (SDI). “Channel partners are now tasked with finding new ways of discovering opportunities, as most face- to-face interactions have ceased for the time being,” said Beka Business Media president and CEO Berge Kaprelian. “The annual VSA program — which has been steadily growing year over year — serves as a helpful guide, showcasing the top performing com- panies and most exciting innovations while demon- strating ‘who’s who’ in the communications industry. Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations, and congratulations to all of this year’s winners.”
