22 WISPAPALOOZA SHOW I OCTOBER 9 – 12, 2023 www.bekabusinessmedia.com DAY 1 L Z OO 2023 Telco Systems Expands Edgility Platform CDG Integrates Public Cloud OSS/ BSS with Calix In response to customer demand, Telco Systems has set a benchmark in edge computing with the introduction of Edgility Integrated Network Functions. This latest addition to the Edgility platform enhances edge connectivity and promises substantial cost savings, eclipsing leading alternatives in the field. The Edgility platform, celebrated for its smart virtualization capabilities, boasts an integrated network functions (INFs) layer. This feature, streamlines the deployment of edge devices across distributed sites, which Telco Systems calls “a game-changer for businesses looking to build and deploy next-generation edge computing applications, seamlessly and cost-effectively.” The most recent release of Edgility offers a comprehensive, cost-effective platform that includes virtual next-generation firewall (vNGFW) and virtual router functionalities. These integrated connectivity features enable businesses to slash investments in additional networking equipment and edge devices. The result? A reduced total cost of wwnership makes it an appealing alternative to traditional options that bundle pricey Cisco devices with external appliance-based network functions from Fortinet and Juniper. Adding to that, by leveraging push button virtualized service creation instead of traditional costly truck roles, the time to revenue is decreased. The platform ensures seamless data exchange and transmission connectivity between stand-alone sites, data centers and network components. This functionality is pivotal in developing workloads for edge computing, an increasingly vital aspect of contemporary business operations. Jason Hyatt, GM and President of Sales at Telco Systems said, “Service creation is a critical component of a successful edge computing deployment, often incurring substantial additional costs. With this release, we empower our customers to break free from costly legacy solutions, connect all network components seamlessly and remotely, all while simplifying the complexities of edge computing. We’re excited to continue expanding this platform with additional integrations.” It’s no secret that adding a managed service portfolio is critical for service providers to compete in the SMB/enterprise space; simple internet connectivity is no longer enough. Edgility’s integrated network functions provide service providers the flexibility to launch services quickly and the scalability to tailor their edge computing deployments to their specific requirements. The vNGFW bolsters network security by defending against cyber threats, while the vRouter optimizes network performance by efficiently managing and directing traffic flows between devices and applications. As an increasing number of devices connect to edge networks, businesses require comprehensive and scalable solutions to manage the surging volume of traffic and data flows. Edgility takes on this challenge by delivering the cloud experience to the edge. It simplifies complex workloads’ deployment, operation, and lifecycle management across diverse site environments, connecting them seamlessly through any network to any data center or cloud provider. Telco Systems’ Edgility Network Functions are a turning point in edge computing. Telco Systems empowers businesses to unlock the full potential of edge computing without straining their budgets by providing a cost-effective, seamlessly integrated platform. Edgility is a beacon of innovation in a constantly evolving digital landscape, offering businesses an avenue to efficient, scalable, and secure edge computing solutions. m For more information, visit booth 301. Communications Data Group (CDG) announced its cloud-based OSS/BSS solution, MBS, now seamlessly integrates with Calix Cloud, enabling insights for Calix Support and Marketing Cloud personabased views. Using the Calix Cloud Subscriber Services Application Programming Interface (API) and CDG’s API, the integration enables the auto registration and visibility of new and updated MBS subscribers and billing information in Calix Support and Marketing Cloud. The enhanced API improves automation and data accuracy and simplifies the creation and provisioning of subscriber broadband services for providers by reducing manual tasks. “We are excited to expand our integration with Calix and committed to creating single-pane experiences for providers and subscribers across the Calix and CDG platforms,” said Mike Chalk, CDG’s VP of Product Development. “Integrations like this, which open access and data flow between systems, are critical to BSPs focused on customer experience (CX) initiatives, because they improve the capabilities and reduce the response times for support staff and expand diagnostic and self-care tools for subscribers.” PRTC, a South Carolina-based telecommunications cooperative, is the initial joint customer to implement the integration between CDG’s MBS OSS/BSS platform and Calix Cloud Through the integration and flow of realtime subscriber billing information, PRTC support and marketing teams gain immediate access to insights to ensure an exceptional subscriber experience, while also automating and streamlining manual processes to help rapidly complete orders and provision services. According to Chris Green, director of Network Engineering at PRTC, “This breakthrough integration is empowering our business to create a truly differentiated experience both for our subscribers and our employees. Our subscribers are immersing themselves in the services we have taken to market, like APEX WIFI service, and the control they have over them, while our support personnel are seeing a reduction in both ISP support calls and support call duration.” Calix Vice Preside of Sales Partnership Skip Hirvela said, “CDG and Calix share a common mission to help empower our customers and the subscribers they serve. Our blossoming partnership with CDG underscores our joint commitment to helping BSPs of all sizes simplify their businesses, excite their subscribers, and grow value for their communities.” m For more information visit CDG at K901 or Calix at booth 235.
