INCOMPAS Fall 2017 - Day 1 Show Daily

« 6 » THE INCOMPAS SHOW I OCTOBER 15 - 17, 2017 www.bekapublishing.com DAY 1 Web: The Impact of the Current Net Neutrality Debate,” featuring INCOMPAS policy experts and executives from Engine, Mozilla, Sonic and Twitter. On Tuesday, at 11:30 a.m. – and just before the Network Deployment Workshop at noon – Microsoft will be providing attendees information on its recently announced Airband initiative, and will be looking for partners as it rolls out broadband in underserved areas. One of the most exciting additions to the Fall Show is a colocation with the Northeast DAS and Small Cell Association (NEDAS), a consor- tium of in-building wireless solution providers. “On Tuesday, we are working jointly with NEDAS to provide even more content with a focus on convergence of wireline and wireless technology to meet the needs of ever-growing consumer demand,” said Pickering. “With IoT increasing demand for communications nearly everywhere, NEDAS is a logical expansion for our event. Bringing NEDAS to The INCOMPAS Show will enhance our attendees’ experience and offer them the chance to explore cutting- edge wireless technologies and potential oppor- tunities that will expand their businesses. Given the importance of small-cell deployment and 5G to the future, NEDAS is a great partner and addi- tion to The INCOMPAS Show.” There are also tremendous opportunities to be found on the show floor. “We are once again bringing the buyers from many companies to the event, and will host open meeting times on the show floor during the day for our attendees to make a connection,” said Pickering. “Be sure to visit our exhibitors and stop by the meeting rooms on the floor to make even more new business contacts. Our team has done a great job of integrating dedicated meeting room space and The Deal Center on the show floor, providing a lot of space to connect and meet in a central location. While you are at it, be sure to grab a cup of coffee or beverage at the INCOMPAS Bar, which is open all day long.” There will be time for fun as well: The Glow Party, sponsored by Google Fiber, will take place on Tuesday at 6 p.m. This closing party will feature the return of the popular band Pop ROCKS, who put on an incredible set the last time INCOMPAS came to town. The Marriott Marquis – the host hotel – is also conveniently located to many of the local San Francisco attractions. “Utilize the convenient show floor and Deal Center for your meetings during the day, as well as the great networking events and recep- tions at The INCOMPAS Show included in your registration, and then explore the great city of San Francisco,” Pickering said. The show kicks off as INCOMPAS prepares to change its event format starting in 2018, moving the INCOMPAS Show to once a year, each fall. The association also will expand the INCOMPAS Policy Summit in Washington, D.C., to include educational sessions that address policy implications for business and other elements from the traditional spring INCOMPAS Show. By hosting the annual trade show each fall in San Francisco, and enhancing the educa- tional content at the Spring Policy Summit, INCOMPAS is giving its members, as well as its partners, customers and prospects, the chance to optimize their time and their marketing and travel budgets. It has also become increasingly important for the leading wired and wireless network, infrastructure and internet content companies that make up the INCOMPAS membership to come to Washington, D.C. and advocate for pro-competition and innovation poli- cies that create jobs, noted Pickering. “In essence, we continue to offer two oppor- tunities for the competitive community to come together – one will be more focused on our advocacy and policy efforts and one will be more focused on the business needs of the competi- tive community,” Pickering said. p Thermo Credit Provides Factoring Facility to SiteSol (INCOMPAS, continued from page 1) T hermo Credit LLC (Networking Table 2) has provided a $300,000 factoring facility to SiteSol Inc. SiteSol is a California-based contractor that specializes in communications site construction and is an approved vendor for T-Mobile USA, Verizon Communications, Ericsson and others. The company plans to use the funds for business growth and working capital. “SiteSol is poised to have tremendous growth in 2017,” said Seth Block, Thermo Credit’s executive vice president. “We are excited to partner with them to facilitate that growth.” Peter Glaeser, SiteSol’s president, added: “We are excited to partner with Thermo Credit. This factoring facility will be used as a financial tool to allow us to cycle our oper- ating capital back into production costs for a more rapid growth. Thermo’s unique method of operations allows us to use this tool in the wireless communications industry. We know of no other factoring company that would allow us to partner with them in this industry.” Thermo Credit is a privately held funding company that provides asset-based loans, accounts receivable financing and factoring services primarily to the communications and technology industries. It serves established, well-run companies that need capital to expand their business, improve their opera- tions or fund an acquisition. p James C. Falvey with Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellot, LLC addresses attendees at the Sunday afternoon policy workshop, which examined key regulatory changes impacting the communications industry, including those relating to broadband deployment, universal service fund (USF) revenue opportunities and potential new robocall requirements.
