INCOMPAS Fall 2017 - Day 2 Show Daily
« 1 2 » THE INCOMPAS SHOW I OCTOBER 15 - 17, 2017 www.bekabusinessmedia.com DAY 2 Telestax, BroadSoft Deliver Integrated CPaaS-UCaaS Platform Southern Telecom Expands Fiber Drive T elestax (Sponsor and Expo Hall Kiosk 1) and BroadSoft have announced a go-to-market partnership for a combined offering. BroadSoft’s service provider customers that are using the company’s cloud busi- ness software for unified communications as-a-service (UCaaS), or collaboration and contact center as-a-service (CCaaS), will now have access to Telestax’ RestcommONE portfolio for communication platform as-a- service (CPaaS) enablement. The integrated solution will enable BroadSoft service providers to be CPaaS-enabled in four to six weeks, the companies said. And, once CPaaS- enabled, service providers will automatically join the accompanying Telestax RestcommONE Marketplace, where they can access on-demand voice, video and messaging applications. Telestax is working closely with BroadSoft to integrate the companies’ products, to ensure a smooth call flow handoff between Restcom- mONE Marketplace applications and Broad- Soft’s UC-One platform. This automated handoff enables users of the UC-One platform to take full advantage of business applications available in Telestax RestcommONE Marketplace, and Rest- commONE CPaaS-enabled service providers who are also BroadSoft partners can monetize the traffic that passes through both platforms without the need for messy integrations. “We are excited to work with BroadSoft to provide a compelling value proposition to its customers created by access to the Restcomm- ONE Marketplace,” said Kevin Nethercott, vice president of Business Development at Telestax. “Through the Marketplace, Telestax has created a new CPaaS market paradigm that blends traditional telecommunications with new enterprise applications, to create and deliver real-time communications business solutions that scale.” With these combined CPaaS-UCaaS offer- ings, BroadSoft will be in position to help drive new revenue streams and increased value to its customers; research from 451 Group shows that 67 percent of enterprises will look to CPaaS providers to meet their demands for real-time communications solutions. With this integration, service providers can become a one-stop shop to meet those demands. “Telestax is building on its experience with communications services, and coming to market with the right product at the right time,” said Raul Castanon-Martinez, senior analyst for Workforce Collaboration and Communications for 451 Group. “Telestax's CPaaS-enablement technology and revenue-share model add up to a compelling value proposition. This represents an attractive opportunity for service providers to reinsert themselves into the value chain of a market that is hugely profitable.” p S outhern Telecom Inc. (Networking Table 1) is planning to expand its under- ground fiber routes and colocation facilities across the Southeast United States. The routes are being planned and constructed as part of the company’s larger network fiber strategy for the region. Existing cables will be replaced with new underground fiber to offer increased capacity, higher fiber counts and state- of-the-art technology to enable more flexibility for Southern Telecom’s current and future customers. A subsidiary of Southern Company, Southern Telecom is in the process of evaluating several new routes around the Southeast. There are more than 600 miles under construction already, primarily as part of joint projects with various partners; The company is also seeking joint-build partners and customers for potential greenfield projects and updates to its existing footprint. “We are constantly evaluating routes and are committed to offering our customers and partners the very best dark fiber and colocation services in the Southeast,” said Barry Navarre, business development manager for Southern Telecom. “As part of our network fiber replacement strategy, we’ll be enhancing current routes and introducing new ones through strategic partnerships.” p A TLANTIC-ACM delivered its 2017 Metro Wholesale Service Provider Excellence Awards on Monday at The INCOMPAS Show.
