6 THE INCOMPAS SHOW I OCTOBER 20 - 22, 2024 www.bekabusinessmedia.com DAY 1 DAY 1 INDATEL Services, a growing nationwide network offering cost-effective transport connectivity via fiber-optic routes in rural and metropolitan areas, recently added Ocean Networks as its newest member. Since launching in 2013, Ocean Networks has been at the forefront of delivering submarine cable systems for governments, carriers, content providers and research institutions. Ocean Networks currently owns and operates over 8,000 kilometers of submarine cable infrastructure. A strategic partner of both Ocean Networks and INDATEL Services brought the two companies together for a bigger purpose. Ocean Networks’ goals align perfectly with INDATEL’s mission, as it looks to leverage INDATEL’s network to enhance its fiber pair and capacity sales with their Hawaiian Islands Fiber Link (HIFL) submarine cable system that is slated to go live in December 2026. Ocean Networks has a roadmap for building new trans-Pacific cable systems extending from Hawaii. They believe that INDATEL’s support will be instrumental in advancing these planned projects. Ocean Networks will focus on its extensive customer base while INDATEL helps aggregate smaller capacity purchasers. “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Ocean Networks to the INDATEL member family,” said INDATEL Services CEO Justin Forte. ”Their expertise in submarine cable systems and commitment to innovation align perfectly with our mission. We look forward to working closely with them to unlock new opportunities and deliver exceptional connectivity solutions for our customers.” p Visit INDATEL Services at Booth 100 or the Governors Square 15 Meeting Room. Consolidated Communications is bringing enhanced network opportunities to U.S. and Canadian companies with a new high-capacity fiber route connecting Montreal and Boston. The fiber route is now in service, and offers 1.2 Tbps capability in 100, 400 and 800 Gbps increments. “The need for additional fiber routes and data center to data center connectivity has increased exponentially,” said Jonathan Magnell, Consolidated’s senior director of Business Development executive. “Consolidated has unique, long-haul routes and dense metro fiber across 20-plus state service areas and we continue to invest in fiber infrastructure.” The route provides strategic on and off ramps in Nashua, N.H.; Boston; Sommerville, Mass.; and Montreal, providing customers on both sides of the border a resilient internet drain with additional routes in the works. “This is another major benefit to choosing Consolidated’s comprehensive connectivity solutions in critical data center markets,” added Sean Baillie, Consolidated’s senior vice president of Carrier, Channel and Hyperscale. Since 2020, Consolidated has invested more than $1 billion in expanding the company’s fiber network, with additional building set to take place in 2025. For example, the company is presently developing a more resilient fiber route connecting Montreal, Quebec City and Boston. This triangular route will avoid coastal areas that are prone to storms, such as the Atlantic coastline and I-95 corridor. The Quebec City to Boston segment will pass east of Lac Saint Pierre, providing added protection against rising sea levels and coastal erosion. Consolidated is also exploring opportunities to expand its network across the border in its Minnesota service area. p For more information on Consolidated’s offerings, stop by Governors Square 11 or visit consolidated.com.
