Hammer has signed a defini- tive agreement to acquire the stock of Open Data Centers, Endstream, 1stPoint and its subsidiaries. 1stPoint has intellectual property in over-the-top services such as SMS/ texting and collaboration tools, virtual desktop and managed hosting ser- vices. Its subsidiaries have multiple CLEC licenses and a mobile operator license. Endstream offers wholesale voice services worldwide, while Open Data Centers operates a carrier neu- tral colocation facility in Piscataway, New Jersey, and an edge data center in Homewood, Alabama. The MNSP program, announced jointly by Hammer and 1stPoint, exemplifies how Hammer will use its existing capabilities and those of the acquired entities to operate and maintain managed wireless networks both domestically and internation- ally. The offering will include wire- less networking equipment, an OTT platform for value added services, 24×7 remote NOC and deploy- ment services, sales and marketing support as well as project manage- ment. Open Data Centers will provide the infrastructure and personnel to facilitate the NOC for remote man- agement capabilities. Mark Stogdill will serve as chief technology officer of Hammer, while Kristen Vasicek, 1stPoint’s direc- tor of marketing, has been appointed as Hammer’s chief operating officer. Telecom industry veteran Josh Redick has joined AireSpring as its Northeast channel director. The role was created to grow AireSpring’s footprint in the Northeastern U.S. Redick will draw on his 20-year career in the industry, as well as his relationships with key partners in the region, to build a strong channel or- ganization in the Northeast, modeled on AireSpring’s presence in other markets. He will also be tasked with recruiting additional channel manag- ers for his team, as well as partner support professionals. Fusion has secured a three-year, $1.1 million cloud solutions agree- ment with a family entertainment center and restaurant chain that needed to consolidate its communi- cations services. Fusion provided an expedited onboarding and installation pro- cess, exceeding the customer’s ex- pectations for rapid deployment and integration with existing applica- tions and workflows, said the com- panies. Fusion also met the chain’s requirement as a single source offering high quality, affordable ser- vices across its rapidly expanding chain. The company also looked for a solution that could support the integration of locations across the border into Canada. Powernet Names Thurnau VP of Strategic Alliances Powernet has named Penny Thurnau as vice president of strategic alliances. Thurnau will work with indirect sales agents through Powernet’s channel pro- gram, as well as vendors and technology partners to create and execute engage- ment strategies that will generate growth for both Powernet and its partners. Thurnau plans to bring in additional partners and increase Powernet’s pres- ence in the indirect sales channel. After beginning a sponsorship of the Alliance of Channel Women and becoming a chapter committee member of the Dayton, Ohio chapter earlier this year, Thurnau is ac- tively working toward increasing Power- net’s participation within the Alliance.
