WWW. WISPA .ORG 3 In March of last year, we had to make the unprecedented call of cancelling WISPAMERICA due to the emerging COVID pandemic. Hundreds of us were disappointed that we couldn’t meet, learn, and grow our businesses. Thankfully, that experience is in the rear-view mirror. While we still must observe precautions to keep us safe, I am extremely excited to welcome you to WISPAMERICA 2021! At the end of the week, I hope that you leave with many new ideas to make your business a better one. Challenges sit on the horizon: robust satellite competition, billions in subsidies, and more. WISPA is here to help you meet those challenges with sessions on each of those topics. We have policymakers and business leaders to talk about how they see the competitive and policy landscape shifting for small innovators on the ground. I’ve been with WISPA for three years now, and I continue to be amazed at all the things that WISPA members do to bring broadband to the communities they serve – to friends, neighbors, government bodies, and main street businesses. Our industry has grown substantially. We are punching above our weight in D.C., accomplishing significant policy victories, and making sure that the world knows who we are and what we’re capable of. We’re helping spread the word that WISPA members are a vital part of getting all Americans on the high-speed Internet and helping all Americans prosper. I hope to sit down with many of you during the coming days and visit more of you in the coming months. I want to make sure that this association is working every day to benefit WISPs, and I hope to hear from you what we are doing right and what we can improve upon. But for now, enjoy the show.
