Enabled by software licenses, Navigator’s stacked sub-carriers double radio capacity without compression or the need for any additional equipment, said the company. The Navigator ST single transceiver radio can now deliver up to 1.6 Gbps per radio by carrying two stacked sub-carriers across a single trans- ceiver, with bandwidth up to 112 MHz per channel (2x112MHz). The Navigator DT dual transceiver radio can now deliver up to 3.2 Gbps per radio by carrying four stacked sub-carriers across dual transceivers, with bandwidth up to 112 MHz per channel (4×112 MHz). The Navigator DT radio system takes capacity even further, supporting XPIC with quad sub-carriers to provide 2 x (2+0 XPIC) operation in a single radio without requiring any additional hardware or external components and saving valuable spectrum. BridgeWave already has deployed a Navigator DT stacked sub-carrier radio system in the U.S. carrying 2.25 Gbps live traffic using 2×80 MHz channels in XPIC mode in a single radio, and is shipping quad carrier single radio systems to customers around the world, including to a Tier 1 carrier. All new orders for Navigator systems support stacked sub-carriers. The unique sub-carrier feature allows customers to purchase Navigator at the lower price single carrier per transceiver configura- tion, with the ability to upgrade to the dual carrier Navigator ST or quad carrier Navigator DT, and it eliminates the need for additional radio hardware and accessory products such as couplers and antennas, reducing tower leasing and installation costs, said Bridgewave. With Navigator systems, network operators have the flexibility to support multiple network configurations and applications, optimize networks for the highest capacity and range, upgrade legacy networks and speed up deployments. “We promised our customers that we would double their microwave link capacity at a frac- tion of the cost, significantly improving their ROI compared to traditional microwave solu- tions, and we have delivered on that promise,” said Sanjay Nagpal, senior vice president, global sales and marketing, REMEC Broadband Wireless Networks. “With Navigator stacked sub-carriers, our customers can dramatically increase network performance and ARPU, lower upfront capital investments and reduce ongoing operating costs as they expand their backhaul networks to support their business goals and outdistance their competitors.” m Visit BridgeWave at WISPAPALOOZA 2019 booth #511.
