1 2 WISPAPALOOZA SHOW I OCTOBER 3 – 6, 2022 www.bekabusinessmedia.com L Z OO 2022 DAY 2 Baicells Technologies, a leader in providing cost-effective LTE hardware solutions, has announced updates to HaloB, the embedded EPC/5GC solution for Baicells eNodeB products. This updated version of HaloB will be dubbed HaloB 2.0 as it marks a significant update and includes several features that have been heavily requested by the wireless community. HaloB is proprietary software available for Baicells base stations that effectively acts as a secondary Evolved Packet Core (EPC) that’s located directly on the hardware to safeguard against disruptions to service that occur due to a lost connection to a cloud-based EPC, such as CloudCore. This software makes it easier to deploy private LTE network with a cloud-based EPC while eliminating the risk factors that are generally associated with running cloud-based EPC deployment model. HaloB 2.0 will include several updates, but more notable are support for Multi-APN and Layer 2. Multi-APN will allow network operators to further customize their wireless networks and configure multiple APNs to separate different types of traffic, such as management, data, and voice, onto individual networks and VLANs. The Layer 2 updates are particularly exciting as this will further simplify the use of LTE systems and will allow supported CPE models to use a tunneling protocol to establish a L2 connection between the CPE and eNodeB. “With the vast majority of Baicells eNodeBs running in HaloB mode, our embedded core solution has proven to be highly robust and easy to deploy, which only requires a single button press to activate,” said Jesse Raasch, CTO of North America at Baicells Technologies. “The new HaloB features which will be rolling out furthers our vision of IT and Telecom convergence as it provides for a coreless deployment while further closing the feature gap.” Baicells Technologies North American VP of Sales Boun Senekham added, “Baicells has been striving for years to simplify and democratize fixed wireless LTE for internet providers across the world. By embedding the core on the base station, we’re making it easier and more affordable for any who are looking to build a private LTE network to quickly set up their networks and begin delivering services to their communities.” HaloB 2.0 is expected to launch via eNodeB, CPE, and OMC software updates in Q4 of 2022. Licenses for HaloB can be purchased on Baicells online store. The FiberFirst Pedestal is designed with this in mind—to save time and money while speeding time-to-revenue.” Clearfield’s Chief Marketing Officer Kevin Morgan added, “Our pedestal solution has been designed to optimize the deployment of Clearfield fiber management solutions. Customers will continue to require domed pedestal solutions for the extra protection provided for applications such as the co-location of services and we look forward to providing those solutions from our supplier partners long into the future.” The CraftSmart FiberFirst Pedestal is part of the Clearfield Labor Lite technologies. The product is a free-breathing, 12-inch modular design with a waffle backplane to support a variety of mounting options within the enclosure while providing UV, chemical and impact resistance. Its high-strength, rigid construction ensures long-term reliability in the harshest environments. The FiberFirst Pedestal is purposebuild to be leveraged in support of a variety of service networks, eliminating the need for multiple, specialty pedestals, reducing inventory management challenges and ensuring operators always have the right product on hand as they plan, build and manage fiber broadband networks. The pedestal is in production now and Clearfield is accepting orders. More information on Clearfield’s CraftSmart FiberFirst Pedestal is available at booth 602 on the Exhibition Floor and at www.SeeClearfield.com. m Baicells Announces HaloB 2.0 to Launch in Q4 Clearfield Clears Path for Fiber Broadband with CraftSmart FiberFirst Pedestal
