14 WISPAPALOOZA SHOW I OCTOBER 14 – 17, 2024 www.bekabusinessmedia.com DAY 1 L Z OO 2023 BillMax Billing Solutions, a software company for internet and VoIP providers, is offering clients a streamlined way to create, manage and store FCC-required broadband labels. To support the new requirements, BillMax implemented a way to create a label for each standalone, mass-marketed broadband access service plan. This easy-to-use solution offers ISPs a simplified method for providing clear, accurate and standardized information to customers. The service not only streamlines regulatory adherence, but supports requirements governing storage of each label for a minimum of two years, including the management of a retrievable archive. BillMax creates a CSV file to make the information in the labels machine-readable. This allows third parties to collect and aggregate data to create comparison-shopping tools for consumers, as required. When labels are published, an HTML file is written with all labels so they can be added to a website. BillMax also has a REST API endpoint to retrieve the label for a certain service for an individual customer in an online portal. “We’re excited to offer this complete service to our clients so they can meet the FCC requirements easily”, said Ellen Slezak, account manager, BillMax. “Following the FCC guidelines to serve those customers seeking service is essential, allowing customers to see their broadband label on the portal will build trust with current customers.” BillMax Billing Solutions helps businesses - particularly the ISP and VoIP verticals - manage a customer lifecycle to improve customer service, reduce cost and lower administrative overhead. Since 1998, the company has completed hundreds of installations for clients worldwide. The BillMax team works closely with clients to put in place a solution to meet their particular needs. m Visit BillMax Billing Solutions at WISPAPALOOZA booth #329. Tarana and Winncom Technologies announced the availability of G1, Tarana’s next-gen fixed wireless access (ngFWA) broadband platform, in the U.K.. G1 is compliant in 5 GHz spectrum. G1 is the first instance of ngFWA technology. Overcoming various industry challenges – solid performance despite physical obstructions, radio interference and distances up to 15 kilometers – it is the first solution to deliver fiber-class broadband in non-line-ofsight (NLoS) spectrum. The U.K. joins 23 other countries that are deploying ngFWA through more than 250 ISPs. This is Tarana and Winncom’s first step to bring the technology to Europe; G1 will be made available in many EU countries throughout the remainder of the year. The move follows the U.K. government’s 2019 announcement of its goal to reach 100 percent of the nation’s premises with gigabitcapable broadband service by 2025. The following year that goal was reduced to 85 percent coverage, which equates to roughly 25 million, explaining why the coverage goal is more commonly known as “25 by 25” and overlooks approximately four million homes and businesses that are considered “very hard-to-reach” locations. ngFWA can ensure that rural communities aren’t left behind. Without the extensive timelines and high costs associated with wired connectivity solutions, the U.K.’s service providers can now reach VHTR locations with reliable broadband up to 600 Mbps, surpassing the required internet speed for most households. “We’re proud to add Tarana G1 to our portfolio in the United Kingdom, and soon the rest of Europe,” said Igor Kurochkin, Winncom’s vice president of global vendor management and marketing. “Already live in other continents we serve, the platform enables our customers to cost-effectively deliver highspeed broadband and bridge the digital divide more efficiently.” “Our ngFWA technology will make the difference for hard-to-reach locations in the UK and beyond,” added Tarana CEO, Basil Alwan. m Visit Tarana Wireless at WISPAPALOOZA booth #141 and Winncom Technologies at booth #534. With Compass, end-user subscribers can safely interact with MikroTik access points without having to learn WinBox or go through a bunch of “skins” and training. Subscribers can then self-service to view their WiFi SSID and passphrase, run a speed test and set up a guest Wi-Fi. They also can set rate and time limits for devices and users and view specific details regarding bandwidth usage. Additionally, on the ISP dashboard side, Admiral customers can upload custom logos and email credentials. This allows end-users, customer service and engineers alike to gain access to a branded experience. m Visit Admiral Platform at WISPAPALOOZA booth #519.
