DAY 2 WWW.WISPA.ORG 1 5 www.bekabusinessmedia.com Baicells Technologies, a leading provider of 4G and 5G network infrastructure serving outdoor and indoor use cases for operators and enterprises, has launched its new 5G gNodeB (gNB), the Aurora243, at WISPAMERICA in Louisville. The Aurora243 is an advanced outdoor 5G Sub-6G fully integrated base station (gNodeB) designed and developed based on the Qualcomm 5G System on a Chip (SoC) solution. This highly compact but feature-rich 2x10W gNB enables operators to economically and easily rollout 5G services to their communities, and the many benefits these services deliver like faster speeds, lower latency and increased volume of connected end points. The Aurora243 will leverage 5G New Radio (NR) bands, include n48 and provide 100MHz channel bandwidth to reach up to 750 Mbps performance with ultra-low latency. Already, the Aurora243 is deployed by a large SEC university in Georgia that is building an autonomous smart farm. This farm uses the ultra-low latency attributed to 5G to continuously monitor water and soil sensors, drive autonomous vehicles and monitor the land via remote cameras. School districts across the United States are looking to the performance of 5G with the continued growth of e-sports teams, which require higher speed connectivity with low latency performance to compete effectively. The number and types of use cases that 5G enables continue to grow. “Expectations around broadband connectivity are evolving, and we’re seeing this reflected in the increasing minimum performance requirements established by state and federal organizations that are providing funding for these network buildouts,” said Minchul Ho, Baicells North America CEO. “To become eligible for the funding, network operators have to upgrade their networks and plan smartly. LTE is not exempt from this rule, and we don’t see a point anytime soon where these requirements become capped. Our strategy is to make it very easy for operators to ease in to 5G in their own networks and the Aurora243 is an operator friendly platform to deliver this.” This Aurora 5G platform marks ongoing innovations by Baicells for the benefit of its many customers. To build on this, Baicells R&D also continues down the path of developing mmWave 5G platforms while working to create its own chipsets that drive out platform costs while delivering unique functionality to provide operational simplicity and performance advantages. m To learn more about how 5G can help you tackle connectivity challenges or to get a better understanding of the 5G developments within Baicells, visit the Baicells booth 617 at WISPAMERICA.
