WISPAPALOOZA Show Daily Day 1

F or the WISP market, deploying in CBRS can be an economical way to efficiently increase customer band- width. While cost effective, this still requires significant investment in both infrastructure and engineering. Being able to easily perform site surveys before deploying is critical to understanding where and what channels are currently in use. Armed with that information the operator can better understand whether or not they’ll need to obtain PALs (Priority Access License) or can get the bandwidth they desire under GAA (General Authorized Access) rules. Utilizing SAF’s 2-8 GHz Spectrum Compact unit and a panel antenna mounted on a light- weight tripod, network operators can quickly survey the physical layer to determine their path forward for interference-free CBRS deployments. With the built-in recording feature saving every trace, it’s easy to gather all the site-specific data in less time than it takes most spectrum analyzers to boot up, said the company. SAF’s Spectrum Compact is a standalone tool eliminating the need for setting up a laptop or external controller. Once back in the operations center the data can be analyzed using the Spectrum Manager software for post processing anal- ysis and reporting. The overlay and marker features make is easy to visualize the full picture of what is going on in the physical layer at each site. This gives the operator the necessary insight to understand where and how they can deploy in CBRS ensuring the best experience for their customers.  Using a spectrum analyzer doesn’t have to be a time consuming or daunting task. Spec- trum Compact is an instant on device with nine touchscreen buttons for simple opera- tion, and SAF’s low noise floor (-105 dB @ 1 MHz RBW) makes it easy to see the RF environment for CBRS deployments.  Every- thing that SAF’s engineering team built into these products that makes them ideal for outdoor microwave path alignment, link trou- bleshooting and maintenance, also makes perfect tools for introduction to RF basics. They also are quite accurate (+/- 3 dB), sensitive, (-105 dBm) and have great thermal stability (-15°C to +55°C). Their deep memory (4 GB) allows the user to save thousands of traces for post-processing/analysis and the units are housed in a rugged anodized aluminum case that’s built to take a lot of physical abuse. As for frequency ranges, SAF has solutions from 300 MHz-87 GHz. m Visit SAF at WISPAPALOOZA booth #217. 2 0 WISPA PALOOZA SHOW I OCTOBER 8 - 12, 2018 www.bekabusinessmedia.com DAY 1 L Z OO 2018 SAF Delivers CBRS Deployment Optimization Solution Bequant Unveils TCP Optimization Solution B equant has come to WISPAPALOOZA 2018 to introduce its TCP network acceleration product to WISPs and to find distribution partners in North America. The company has developed a network appli- ance that can accelerate internet data traffic to over 100 percent, say Bequant execu- tives. Based on a patented state-of-the-art TCP stack, it can also compress traffic and manage transmission bandwidth in an intel- ligent way, especially for video services over wireless networks. The Bequant product is deployed and currently in commercial service in several WISP networks in Europe and in Latin America. Repre- sentatives of Bequant, including company CEO José Lopez, will be presenting the benefits of the company’s solution for WISP networks and the impact it has on internet traffic and web-based applications, including the results of a study on Netflix performance in several networks where Bequant’s product has been deployed. m Visit Bequant at WISPAPALOOZA booth #213.
