www. WISPA .org 2 9 www.bekabusinessmedia.com DAY 1 S iklu, a market leader in mmWave wireless solutions, announced a new Terminal Unit for its industry- leading PtMP MultiHaul series: the MultiHaul compact TU (cTU) T201. The self-aligning mmWave radio is ideal for low profile instal- lations anywhere, said the company. The cTU condenses MultiHaul rich feature set already deployed in service provider and smart cities’ networks, into the smallest mmWave radio in the industry, 6.5x 3.1x 1 in, roughly the size of an iPhone X. The cTU compact and slim form-factor is available in multiple color options allowing installation everywhere, elimi- nating costly site preparations and long cable runs. Anywhere installation coupled with the self-alignment and TU auto-provi- sioning features, enables technicians to complete field-installs and commissioning in under 15min per link, said Siklu. Thus, the cTU reduces the total cost of owner- ship (TCO) for Gigabit connectivity to new levels and provides a return on investment often measured in months by offering an unbeatable Gb/$. Service providers will benefit from using the cTU for 5G Fixed Wireless Access applications on the same mmWave wire- less network simultaneously, delivering multi-gigabit connectivity, with an even more unobtrusive cTU. The MultiHaul cTU is also supported by Siklu’s SmartHaul WiNDE application, a SaaS application for automated network design with PTP and PTMP Siklu radios. “The cTU provides exceptional value with competitively priced capacity, simple instal- lation and powerful management tools to achieve lower ROIs,” said Eyal Assa, Siklu’s CEO. “Extending the offering of our PtMP MultiHaul™ series to provide the same reli- able performance in a tiny form factor and a lower price, continues Siklu’s leadership and innovation in the market. General availability is expected during Q4 2018.” m Visit Siklu at WISPAPALOOZA booth #201. WISPs also report to offering much more than internet access to their customers. Nearly a third of WISPs offer voice services, 15 percent offer managed Wi-Fi, 15 percent offer IT support, 14 percent offer video surveillance, and 8 percent offer IPTV services. More than half of WISPs (52 percent) have five or fewer technical employees, shows the Cambium survey, and 75 percent have fewer than 10 technical employees. This places a priority on easy- to-install and highly reliable equipment that enables field technicians to focus on new installations and expanding network coverage, said the company. Wi-Fi connections, meanwhile, are where WISPs believe their networks are most vulnerable. Some 31 percent of WISPs report that 51 percent to 80 percent of trouble calls are caused by client equip- ment, and half of the WISPs report that the majority of customer support calls are for in-house routers or client devices unrelated to the outdoor wireless backhaul service provided by WISPs. Stop by Cambium at WISPAPALOOZA booth #635 to discuss these survey results and more with CEO Atul Bhatnagar, and Scott Imhoff, Vice President of Product Management. m Survey Says, WISPs’ Confidence High
