WISPAPALOOZA Show Daily Day 2

1 8 WISPA PALOOZA SHOW I OCTOBER 8 - 12, 2018 www.bekabusinessmedia.com DAY 2 L Z OO 2018 Grundy Electric Chooses Engiso V-MAG 340 Magnetic Antenna Mounts G rundy Electric Cooperative recently had a tough challenge. The company needed to install an omni-channel directional antenna for 15 households in rural Missouri, with a target goal of just 18 months to pay back the total cost of installation. The company also wanted to achieve a positive cash flow for 18 additional months following the installation. Grundy needed to leverage the area’s numerous existing structures, including city- owned water towers. This, however, required careful safety considerations to avoid interfering with drinking water. At the same time, Grundy needed to ensure the safety of its installa- tion team at high altitudes and protect against weather conditions such as extreme humidity, high winds, thunderstorms and ice buildup. Grundy weighed several options such as using in-ground systems, erecting a new tower on city property and welding an antenna to the steel surface of the water tower. These options proved to be cost-prohibitive and dangerous, as well as laborious and time consuming. Grundy found a viable solution with Engiso’s V-MAG 340 magnetic antenna mounts, which allowed the company to safely secure its antennas to city-owned waters towers. Grundy successfully mounted two omni-directional antennas to two separate water towers, utilizing multiple Engiso V-MAG 340 devices. This solu- tion was fast, safe, affordable and capable of meeting Grundy’s 18-month payback deadline. Engiso’s V-MAG 340 proved to be a big success, said the company. The project withstood extreme environmental conditions including volatile storm seasons, wind speeds exceeding 65 miles per hour and direct lightning strikes, without moving an inch. At the same time, the project met the company’s performance management criteria for cash flow and payback. Plus, the magnets can be easily discon- nected, which is useful when re-painting the tower. “The ENGISO V-MAG 340 magnets have been installed for 18 months, and they have survived windy, stormy springs; long, hot and dry summers; and cold, icy, snowy, winters without moving an inch,” explained Terry White of Grundy Electric Cooperative. “I would highly recommend working with Engiso to devise a magnet solution that is affordable, easy and durable.” m Visit Engiso at WISPAPALOOZA booth #249.
