These WISPs are leveraging the availability of 4G LTE products to reach broadband internet customers in unserved and underserved markets. The solution is marketed as the Sonata EPCfn, geared towards enabling WISPs to deploy 4G LTE networks using an easy to deploy, scalable and high-performance platform. The Sonata EPCfn can be delivered as a premises-based solution or virtualized in operator or cloud-based datacenters. Customers can connect their own base stations from any vendor supporting standards-based interfaces. The platform can be deployed across distributed network architecture enabling operators to optimize the network transport costs across multiple locations, said the company. This type of network flexibility allows WISPs to quickly scale their growth and provide new cost-effective services. “Star Solutions has always supported network operators in rural markets around the world with cost-effective solu- tions.
