Bicom Systems has announced version 5.2.of its gloCOM UC software. Version 5.1 introduced Skype for Business to the Bicom platform, and version 5.2 has new features including Communicator Branding, which offers white label capabilities to resellers that want to rebrand their products, and new languages for the GUI, with French and Italian now available in addi- tion to English. With gloCOM 5.2, users also can now see why and when an agent pauses a call. By hovering over an agent’s name, a tool-tip will appear with the status and explanation of the agent’s status. This feature not only benefits supervisors but also other coworkers by ensuring breaks are not being abused and collaboration is easily attainable. Bicom developers are already looking ahead to gloCOM 5.3, which will include new features such as Di- aler and Sennheiser Support. ECESSA has announced signifi- cant enhancements to its SD-WAN feature set, to be included in 2019 firmware releases available to all Ecessa customers. The company has also reinforced its guarantee to pro- vide 100 percent successful guided deployments for all customers. Key features to expect in 2019 include: • Full router functionality through the addition of BGP and multicast features; • Enhanced security with Layer 7 next generation firewall with IDS and IPS capabilities; • Native cloud-based SD-WAN instances for Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure, in addition to the product’s current VMware ESXi capabilities; and • Improved application awareness with deep packet inspection (DPI). Ecessa customers with current SLA contracts can upgrade to new firmware releases for free. Instruc- tions can be found on the Ecessa support portal. Involta announced the acquisi- tion of IT|Lynk, an IT managed services firm based in Indepen- dence, Ohio. This marks the second acquisition this year for Involta and increases the company’s Ohio foot- print to include four data centers and offices statewide. Involta has retained all 18 IT|Lynk employees, growing the Involta team to 250 em- ployees nationwide. IT|Lynk is a full-service IT consult- ing firm that offers IT as a service, workload as a service, virtual desk- top services and a suite of hosting services including disaster recovery. IT|Lynk’s services will supplement Involta’s end-to-end managed service offering and critical enterprise ap- plication hosting in the secure Involta CompliantCloud. IT|Lynk’s team of certified technical staff will bring add- ed expertise in managing, hosting and maintaining enterprise applications, said the company. IT|Lynk customers will now have access to Involta’s full suite of services and highly secure nationwide data centers. Bharti Airtel Limited, a global telecom- munications company based in New Delhi, is the third largest mobile operator in the world. It operates in 20 countries across South Asia and Africa providing mobile services, fixed line broadband and voice services depending upon the country of operation. Fiberlight provides network operators with custom-designed lit and dark fiber solutions, while PhoenixNAP offers colocation services and a variety of cloud services that include public cloud, virtual private data center and managed private cloud services. The compa- ny also provides custom managed services such as back-up and recovery, storage and migration and disaster recovery. AireSpring Lights Up Multi-Million Dollar Network Upgrade AireSpring recently announced the com- pletion of a multi-million-dollar upgrade to its network. The planned upgrade was execut- ed in response to AireSpring’s five consecu- tive years of growth, said the company. One service in particular that is driving the need for increased capacity is the exponen- tial growth of AireSpring’s Platinum SD-WAN solution. The months-long, complex process included a major expansion of AireSpring’s nationwide data centers in new world-class facilities. AireSpring’s new facilities are housed within state-of-the-art data centers offering the latest in network and physical se- curity, including biometrics as well as highly reliable power and cooling solutions. The move included replacement and upgrade of all core routers to highly scal- able, fully redundant Juniper Networks equipment. AireSpring significantly upgrad- ed and expanded its fully meshed optical backbone between all data center facilities.
