Snom caught everyone’s atten- tion last April, when the company was announced as the official brand for VTech’s SIP-based phones, cordless offerings and conferencing endpoints. Snom, many will recall, was acquired by VTech Holdings back in 2016. Now, Snom – in business since 1996 and headquartered in Berlin, Ger- many – is making a bigger name for itself in the channel as word spreads about its leading VoIP-based desktop, mobile DECT and conferencing solutions, which are backed by high-quality audio, software and engineering. At the same time, what you see is what you get with most of Snom’s products. The company provides simple, user-friendly VoIP endpoints. This is a company that’s admittedly not trying to differentiate itself based on flashiness but on sound de- sign and value. As a result, many chan- nel partners are having success bringing these products to SMB customers. “Our products will surprise you,” said vice president of sales Brian Tompkins. “For example, we offer desk phones with a color screen on our entry-level models, which is something you wouldn’t expect. When it comes to business phones, they don’t always have to be the fanciest. So we try to keep the value high and the cost low, and aligned with the needs of our customers.” New to Snom’s product line is the D7xx series, a family of good-better- best phones with wideband HD audio that matches perfectly with the diverse telecom needs of today’s businesses. The company also is offering a new device-as-a-service (DaaS) pro- gram, providing a flexible, turn- key platform for leasing devices with monthly payments in- stead of capital purchases. And soon, Snom will release its C620 wireless conferencing solution, which has a SIP DECT base, two removable wireless mics and up to 24 hours of talk time. One unique feature offered by Snom, which can be found in its mo- bile DECT line, is Key Line Emulation (KLE), which simplifies and enhances cordless call handling. Calls can be easily placed on hold and picked up on another device. As Tompkins said, most companies today claim their products are easy to use, but this one really does stand out – espe- cially considering that the actual keys are embedded into the phone itself. “We’re offering a cordless DECT solution that has KLE in SIP for- mat,” Tompkins continued. “The actual cordless phone has four buttons for lines 1, 2, 3 and 4, so you don’t have to trans- fer or scroll or go through screens like other systems. It actually has fixed but- tons. It’s great for small businesses that haven’t made the move to SIP yet and may prefer using their existing technolo- gies. We’ve bridged old tech with SIP and added a sharp user interface. So you don’t have to spend time training to operate our solutions.” All Snom VoIP products are sold exclusively through accredited Snom partners and distributors. The company also is open to white label partnerships. And Snom is currently accepting new authorized VARs and service providers. Snom will be hitting the road and attending a variety of small, partner- focused events throughout 2020. Email infoUSA@snom.com to find out where you can find them this year.
