ICYMI TBI Names VP of Emerging Technologies To better enable their partners’ conversations through discovery, design and build, TBI has named Anish Patel as vice president, emerging technologies. The former GTT enterprise sales engineering executive joins the master agent to lead solution engineers and build out subject matter experts in cloud infrastructure, communications and security. Now more than ever, sub-agents have nearly end- less options when it comes to selling cloud solutions and serving as technology consultants through cloud migrations, further enabling their customers to take data to the edge, restructure enterprise network archi- tecture and transform businesses, digitally. In this new position, Patel will work closely with vendors to identify next-gen products and create specific programs that TBI partners can leverage to increase sales. As he works to develop relationships with TBI part- ners, Patel will make subject matter hires to better sup- port cloud infrastructure, communication and security initiatives. His background will be leveraged to facilitate more consultative, solution-oriented discussions around next-gen services that partners can use to drive more value to their customers, said TBI executives. INCOMPAS Reschedules Annual Show to September INCOMPAS, the internet and competitive networks as- sociation, has rescheduled The 2020 INCOMPAS Show for September 14-16 at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. “Based on feedback from our attendees and members, we are moving our 2020 event to mid-September, “said INCOMPAS CEO Chip Pickering. “We look forward to being able to bring together industry visionaries, business leaders, policy experts and decision makers together for yet another productive INCOMPAS Show in 2020.” The Cosmopolitan offers 2020 INCOMPAS Show attend- ees the convenience of an exhibit hall, meeting rooms and educational sessions all located in close proximity of each other. There, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with top decision makers and their partners and suppliers to trans- act business and network over a three-day span. The show also provides an opportunity for attendees to explore the innovative products and services that could give their businesses a competitive edge and hear from the dis- ruptors and industry leaders about business, technology and policy trends that are shaping the communications landscape. Cox to Pilot IoT Program in Nevada Cox Communications is entering into a partnership with Henderson, Nev., to pilot its smart technology in the city’s Water Street District Innovation Corridor. Cox2M, the IoT business line of Cox Communications, will test several solutions in the area to help address challenges including energy and water conservation, public safety and economic development efforts. The objective of the pilot will be to measure the overall impact and value created by these smart community solutions. This collaboration will position Henderson with the most innovative communities as it aggregates critical data to make actionable decisions on resource management. The Water Street District is considered the historic heart of Henderson and is located approximately 15 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. With the forthcoming pilot, the area will soon become an innovation exploration environment for the Cox2M Smart Communities Platform solutions. The goal is to uncover insights and new solutions to ex- pand in Henderson and other Cox markets. The one-year Water Street District pilot will begin in early 2020 and may include crowd counting and vehicle detection; smart water meters; smart lighting controls; and data analytics. Comcast Business Takes the Stage with Walnut Street Theatre Comcast Business recently announced that Philadel- phia’s historic Walnut Street Theatre is utilizing Comcast Business services to propel digital transformation and enhance the artist and audience experience. This past May, the Walnut Street Theatre an- nounced a major expansion beginning in 2020 to add another 400-seat theater-in the-round, public restau- rant and enhanced box office and concessions to meet the needs of a modern audience. And, to keep up with the technology behind it all, they needed a reliable service provider that could deliver a robust internet and Wi-Fi connection. Walnut Street Theatre turned to Comcast Business to provide Ethernet-dedicated inter- net, business internet and a private Wi-Fi connection for employees and visiting designers.
