The IT experiences of students and faculty at schools and universi- ties are now a major driver in educa- tion, much like customer experience in the business arena. Yet many schools today are struggling with help desks due to unreliable and outdated systems and processes. One institution that looked to im- prove its help desk was the Univer- sity of the State of New York, which turned to IT solutions provider Com- pulink Technologies for support.  Compulink equipped the higher education college at USNY with the Freshservice ITSM service from its partner Freshworks. Freshservice is an easy-to-use and simple-to-con- figure IT service desk that sits in the cloud. With Freshservice, IT can au- tomate repetitive tasks, freeing sup- port teams to focus on higher level issues that require a human touch. In addition, Freshservice main- tains detailed records of contracts, hardware, software and other assets for IT, providing further backend sup- port. It also features an intuitive UI that requires minimal to no training, and is customizable to IT and non-IT needs, which is helpful for student employees and busy faculty mem- bers, said Freshworks. “Through this partnership, the college at USNY is utilizing Freshser- vice to avoid the repetitive and ardu- ous tasks for the support teams, as well as maintain accurate records of IT equipment,” said Rafael Arboleda, CEO, Compulink Technologies. AireSpring announced the avail- ability of the new 600 series of VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud Edge devices. AireSpring is one of the first MSPs to beta test the software required to support the new 600 series models, providing its channel partners and customers with a true “edge” as they work to gain an advantage in the challeng- ing business environment of digital transformation. To facilitate the rollout of the 600 series, AireSpring worked closely with the VeloCloud engi- neering team to configure, test and deploy the new software in its core network prior to its general release to the marketplace. AireSpring was one of the first partners to upgrade all its VeloCloud Gateways (VCGs) worldwide to support this latest software release.  The new SD-WAN Edge 600 se- ries devices combine a purpose-built networking appliance from Dell with the VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud software for an all-in-one solution that provides complete WAN mod- ernization, said AireSpring. Addition- ally, the Edge 600 series also in- cludes centralized orchestration and global gateways with dynamic multi- path optimization (DMPO), which has been demonstrated to deliver up to a 75 percent reduction in costs over traditional MPLS-backed WAN designs and increase performance for state-of-the-art applications. “AireSpring has prided itself on always being at the forefront in the channel when it comes to offering cutting edge technology, and our partnership with VeloCloud is a perfect example of this,” stated Avi Lonstein, CEO AireSpring. Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 Now Compatible with Zoom Sennheiser’s TeamConnect Ceiling 2 microphone is now compatible with Zoom Meetings, as is the Bose ES1 Ceiling Audio Solution, an in-ceiling unified communications solution con- sisting of the Sennheiser TeamCon- nect Ceiling 2 microphone, the Bose ControlSpace EX-440C conferencing DSP, Bose EdgeMax EM180 in-ceiling loudspeaker and Bose PowerSpace P2600A amplifier. “Collaboration tools must enable people to connect seamlessly and with confidence. The Bose/Sennheiser solu- tion does just that,” said Charlie Jones, global business development manager for Sennheiser’s Business Communica- tion segment. “The importance of video conferencing and webinar solutions has increased massively during the coronavi- rus crisis, and so has the significance of touchless microphone systems like Team- Connect Ceiling 2.” Sennheiser’s TeamConnect Ceiling 2 microphone uses adaptive beamform- ing to automatically and reliably pick up the person speaking in a conference room, no matter where he or she is located within the space. The micro- phone allows for freedom of movement, flexible use of conference rooms and superior audio quality. In addition to business conferencing applications, the Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 is increasingly employed in higher education environments, where it facili- tates distance learning, especially with seminars that usually require a greater freedom of movement and feature sev- eral speakers. In addition, as hygiene continues to be top of mind, the Team- Connect Ceiling 2 enables touchless audio in classrooms to maintain social distancing best practices more easily, while ensuring all students experience clear and discernable lectures.
