company to get issues resolved instead of playing “find the problem provider.” The service features a small, managed edge device that sits on the customer premises and is paired with the nexVortex network to compensate for packet loss. This is done by intelligently duplicating, trans- mitting and recombining voice data packets traveling between the customer’s site and the nexVortex hosted voice platform using multiple ISP WAN links. According to Jordan Feldman, director of software development at nexVortex, the statistical probability of multiple WAN links from different ISPs incurring simultaneous packet loss is extremely low. In other words, if ISP A experiences packet loss of 10 percent, and ISP B experiences loss of 20 per- cent, the duplication and recombina- tion of voice packets that occurs within the mHV service would result in a very low packet loss of 2 percent. The intel- ligence software developed by nexVor- tex for its nVE edge device provides session quality management of the two links based on SD-WAN technology. The nVE edge device, which was an effort supported by nexVortex’s de- velopment partner Epygi, is delivered under a monthly rental agreement. nexVortex says the service is “plug and play” and pricing will be “aggressive.” An added benefit of the dual WAN links used in the man- aged hosted voice service is the built-in redundancy and business continuity play. While voice is delivered over dual- paths to the hosted platform, data traffic passes through to the internet over the primary ISP connection. If there is an outage or failure on that pri- mary connection, data traffic is moved to the secondary ISP, keeping all types of business services up and running in the unlikely event of an ISP failure. It’s all part of what Wes Rogers, founder and chief operating officer of nexVortex, calls “an Uncommon Service experience,” though it starts with the very straightforward concepts of Qual- ity, Availability and Visibility. Rogers believes the company’s new Managed Hosted Voice delivers on all three. “We are truly excited about this ground-breaking solution,” he says. o Core Communications Source: nexVortex Channel Vision | March - April, 2018 14
