“just in case,” said the survey. Right now, more than two-thirds only carry one or two solutions in their quivers. The biggest obstacle sited by MSPs that still don’t have a UCaaS offering in their portfolios is a lack of partners with technical and project management resources to deploy and support the cloud service. This was named by a concerning two- thirds of respondents. Interestingly enough, in the 2017 survey, 52 per- cent of responding MSPs said their own lack of expertise for designing and deploying voice solutions was a top barrier. For a sizable chunk of these MSPs, they simply don’t see the dollars. A third of respondents in this year’s sur- vey site as a top barrier the inability to produce enough revenue to overcome the resource and time commitments associated with internal teams selling and managing solutions. Among those that have incorpo- rated a UCaaS offering, the number of competitors and an inability to dif- ferentiate in the market continue to be the top challenges. A sizable number (44 percent) say it’s hard to overcome incumbent carriers’ low-price solutions, and those respondents say they need added value from vendors to differenti- ate themselves in the marketplace. For more than half of MSPs, su- pervising the design and deployment process is seen as a challenge, sug- gesting cloud voice may be more complex than some have anticipated.
