EMERGENT According to GrowthEnabler and Marketsand- Markets analysis, the global IoT market will grow from $157 billion in 2016 to $457 billion by 2020, at a CAGR of 28.5 percent. Global market share will be dominated by three sub-sectors: Smart cit- ies (26 percent), industrial IoT in manufacturing, transportation and logistics (24 percent) and con- nected health (20 percent). These will be followed by smart homes (14 percent), connected cars (7 percent), smart utili- ties (4 percent) and wearables (3 percent). Bain Capital meanwhile predicts business-to-business IoT segments will generate more than $300 bil- lion annually by 2020, including about $85 billion in the industrial sector. There are more and more opportunities for partners to get into the IoT act. For instance, Technology Solutions Xchange (TSX), a con- sortium of master agents in the telecom/cloud market, has joined the IoT Channel Accelerator, a comprehensive program designed to deliver solutions and education to sales partners.
