Spectrum Enterprise announced the national availability of its Managed SD-WAN service with the capability of stitching together SD-WAN networks and Ethernet networks. The Managed SD-WAN service is designed and delivered using a next generation, software defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) platform that is integrated into the Spectrum Enterprise fiber network across the United States. The Managed SD-WAN service covers the entire implementation — from solution design and installa- tion to portal-based network visibility and dedicated, 24x7 monitoring and support. The service is available in a number of configuration options, including Layer 3, Layer 2 and hybrid service configurations, along with the ability to use and optimize multiple connections at each site. Additionally, an integrated, virtual security service is available for clients that want to enable secure internet access with their Managed SD-WAN service. “Not only does this platform allow clients to securely integrate existing network sites and SD-WAN sites, it also enables us to rapidly deploy new capabilities for additional use cases and future network solutions,” said Greg King, senior vice president, product, marketing and strategy for Spectrum Enterprise.  With this fully managed service, Spectrum Enterprise provides en- terprise clients a supported journey to deploy SD-WAN more easily by offering choices for flexible solution design, service configurations and implementation pacing based on specific enterprise client and network requirements. The Spectrum Enterprise Man- aged SD-WAN service incorporates technologies from Cisco for services orchestration, Fortinet for virtual security solution, Netcracker for VNF management and Nokia’s Nuage Networks for the SD-WAN technology. FatPipe Networks recently announced the general availability of FatPipe SD-WAN for Azure through the Microsoft Azure Market- place. The platform enables Microsoft Azure customers that use Office 365 and other cloud-based applica- tions to get a better experience by overcoming the need to reconnect every so often when the sessions break, said the company. This is es- pecially important for customers and offices where large groups have to use Office 365 or other cloud-hosted applications, or when a single line connection to Azure is not adequate to address line drop issues. FatPipe SD-WAN for Azure is built around FatPipe patented MPSec technology, which provides “the highest possible WAN transmission security,” said FatPipe, “an order of magnitude above standard encryp- tion.” FatPipe’s in-built WAN optimi- zation, meanwhile, can significantly reduce bandwidth needs. Building on FatPipe’s strategy of licensable features, FatPipe for Azure can be licensed with FatPipe’s full suite of features including SD-WAN, WAN optimization, network visibility and reporting, VPN and QoS. FatPipe for Azure is licensed using Azure’s “Bring Your Own License” model. Spectrum Enterprise Launches Nationwide Managed SD-WAN FatPipe Announces SD-WAN for Azure Silver Peak Expands Global Partnership with Tech Mahindra Silver Peak has announced an expanded global partnership with Tech Mahindra. Silver Peak is broadening the service provider’s managed SD-WAN portfolio with new tiered services powered by its Unity EdgeConnect SD-WAN edge platform. With EdgeConnect, Tech Mahindra customers will benefit from an SD-WAN edge platform that unifies SD-WAN, fire- wall, routing and WAN optimization network functions in a single system, simplifying and consolidating the network edge and assuring the highest levels of network and application performance. The new Silver Peak-based managed SD-WAN services are available immediately to Tech Mahindra business customers across the Americas and Europe regions with two delivery model options. Distributed enterprises can deploy EdgeConnect with Silver Peak hardware appliances or as a single VNF running on multi-purpose universal CPE devices deployed at sites across their networks. Ecessa Announces SD-WAN Upgrades Ecessa has announced significant en- hancements to its SD-WAN feature set, to be included in 2019 firmware releases available to all Ecessa customers. The company has also reinforced its guarantee to provide 100 percent successful guided deployments for all customers.
