virtual reality GTT Communication has expanded its SD-WAN service by adding the capability to run multiple network applications on a single universal customer premises equipment (uCPE) device. uCPE enables more cost-effective and efficient delivery of network services, including centralized manage- ment of software updates and more flexible service customiza- tion, said the company. GTT leverages virtualized network function (VNF) technol- ogy to deliver multiple services, such as SD-WAN, firewall and WAN optimization, on the same uCPE device, eliminating the requirement to deploy multiple hardware devices at a single client site.  “Consolidating network func- tions such as routing, firewall and WAN optimization on a single device lowers hardware costs and improves agility by making it easier to manage remote of- fices and roll out new network- ing services,” commented Cliff Grossner, executive director of research and analysis at IHS Markit. “Our research findings indicate that interest in uCPE is growing strongly from enterprises that want to automate manage- ment of their edge connectivity and is an increasingly important element used by service provid- ers to deliver SD-WAN.”  GTT Enhances SD-WAN with Universal CPE 30 million square feet – for new data center campuses. “Intuitively, a hot climate like Phoenix doesn’t seem to be conducive to economi- cal data-center operations,” said Howard. “However, the growth of the Phoenix market is being driven by reasonable power prices, more efficient cooling, solid tax incentives, regional network connectivity and an exceptionally low risk of natural disasters.” $4.5 Billion Projected size of the U.S. market for carrier managed SD-WAN services by 2023, according to Vertical Systems Group analysis. Projected revenue is based on billable SD-WAN customer sites installed in the U.S. and under management. Revenue includes charges for SD-WAN service overlay components, as well as spending on WAN access services.
