WISPAMERICA 2020 Dates and Location Announced Frontier Communications an- nounced the launch of a Managed Wireless LAN solution for medium businesses and large enterprises that combines hosted and managed tech- nology with “one-stop-shop” network installation, management, maintenance and analytics. The solution is a key component of Frontier’s growing Fully Integrated Managed Solutions Portfo- lio, said the company. Frontier says it will professionally design, install, operate, proactively monitor and manage the high-capacity wireless LAN solutions. Combined with Frontier’s Ethernet connectivity capabilities, this solution allows a cus- tomer’s employees, contractors, cus- tomers and guests to work and interact virtually anywhere within a network. Managed Wireless LAN also scales as business needs grow, relieving cus- tomers of the cost and administrative burden of keeping core technology and software up to date. “To focus on their core business, or to simplify operations and reduce costs, enterprises are increasingly entrusting key parts of their IT infra- structure to managed network service providers. Frontier’s Managed Wireless LAN combines managed Wi-Fi with additional managed services including broadband, Ethernet, security, installa- tion, support and monitoring to create a uniquely tailored and reliable solution,” said Daniel Peiretti, senior vice presi- dent of commercial product and mar- keting for Frontier Communications. In addition, Frontier offers 24/7 customer support and robust network backhaul that allows heavy data traf- fic users to seamlessly collaborate via voice and video. Frontier’s Business Intelligence portal, which accompanies the Managed Wireless LAN solution, allows customers to personalize their splash page to convey user messages (easily updated as desired); control pri- vate and guest access; and view usage analytics that provide insight into online activities and consumption patterns. These analytics and insights offer busi- ness owners a better understanding of Wi-Fi user profiles from which they can create personalized customer experi- ences and targeted customer cam- paigns to accelerate business goals and growth, said the company. “Customers can adapt Frontier’s solu- tions to meet their most unique needs – such as integration with IoT applications to reduce energy consumption, use of a softphone and voice over wireless tech- nology to mitigate poor cellular reception, tracking expensive assets at hospitals and manufacturing sites and inventory management in retail and warehousing environments, among a wide variety of innovative uses,” added Peiretti. Frontier Launches Managed WLAN Mobile & Wireless 62 Percent of restaurant executives surveyed by Oracle who expressed doubts over their company’s ability to keep up with the speed of mobile technology changes. More than half (59 percent) agreed that their company faces the threat of disruption from their more mobile-enabled competitors. Enterprise Prefer 5G Ecosystem While 67 percent of medium and large enterprise IT and operations executives agree that communications service providers are necessary for successful deployment of 5G network-enabled solutions, they seem to prefer an ecosystem-based solution for 5G.
