Maybe, “tell them you like them” or “pay more attention in school.” Even though we all learn from our past, it is nice to have reassurance. This year, Bicom Systems celebrates its 18th birthday in the communications industry. To celebrate the anniversary, we wanted to take a trip down memory lane and read a letter from Bicom Systems to ourselves. “First off, good job on partnering together so early on, Senad Jordanovic (CEO), Stephen Wingfield (Board of Directors), and Sergej Kasumovic (Head of Research & Development). We wouldn’t have made it this far if it weren’t for you three founders. That Montenegro trip, what a success! But oh, just as well my camera was not working when...Haha! Remember how everyone believed it was impossible, but we were the ones who put the first GUI on Asterisk? I will never forget the excitement of friends, team members, and partners! Releasing the news at Astricon was electric. Look back at where we started this thing. We all worked remotely in our hometowns, and for some, out of a broom closet! Can you believe we now occupy five offices and employ over a hundred people? Not to mention our partnerships with local universities where we find our brilliant interns! We made a really good decision by signing Joseph Poplawski, the owner of White Mountain Telephone, as our first partner. I love that 18 years later he is still part of the Bicom Systems family and the evergrowing list of 500 active partners. Speaking of partners, keep listening to them! Although out of our accomplishments over the years, I would say our initiative to empower women in the IT industry is our favorite. The women of Bicom Systems are fierce and remarkable leaders. We were extremely proud to become a signatory of the Women Empowerment Principles this year. As this letter comes to an end, we want to make a promise to our future selves. We promise to continue to push forward, embrace technology and build a company that thrives in diversity, sustainability, and excellence.
