GTT Communications last month announced the acquisition of Custom Connect, an Amsterdam-headquartered provider of high-speed network connec- tivity serving multinational enterprises and financial trading firms. According to sources at GTT, the deal extends the reach of GTT’s global Tier 1 IP back- bone with additional points of presence in Europe and the Middle East and augments GTT’s portfolio of ultra-low latency services with the industry’s low- est latency service from Frankfurt to London, New York and Chicago. The move also will reportedly deepens GTT’s base of multinational clients with highly strategic accounts, and expands GTT’s sales presence in the Benelux region. In related news, GTT ended 2017 by expanding its channel program with the hiring of three regional vice presidents, each with extensive industry experience heading successful channel partner pro- grams: Robert Westervelt, east region; Michael Gough, central region; and Ro- land Saenz, west region. GTT Acquires Custom Connect Reinvent Boosts Channel Management Reinvent Telecom, a provider of private-label, cloud-based unified communications, collaboration and contact center solutions, has promot- ed Ray Napoletano to vice president of sales and hired David Ansehl as senior channel manager. Napoletano has worked for Re- invent and its parent company, Sad- dleback Communications, for the past decade, most recently as di- rector of sales and service. During his tenure, he championed and built Reinvent’s UCaaS solution and the partner program. In his new role as vice president of sales, Napoletano will continue to oversee the partner program but also invest more time in making improvements to market- ing, tools, products, process auto- mation and other key components of the program. Ansehl comes to Reinvent from the telecommunications systems division at Toshiba, where he rose through the ranks from sales engi- neer to regional manager and, ulti- mately, director for the West before it was acquired by Mitel. He spent the past several years developing Toshiba VIPedge cloud and help- ing partners transition from offering premises-based systems to cloud- based solutions with an emphasis on UCaaS. By working with local telecom and cable providers across the country, TPx Communications has extended its abil- ity to bring managed voice and data services to virtually any business loca- tion in the United States. TPx’s new service is a turnkey managed internet solution that of- fers symmetrical and asymmetrical bandwidth options that can be fine- tuned to meet specific budgetary and technical requirements. Band- widths range from 1Mbps to 1Gbps and higher, where available. The added capability of SD-WAN trans- forms this economical bandwidth into a business-class connection with powerful and secure end-to-end management, said the company. “We really don’t care who provides the underlying connectivity,” said Dave Zahn, senior vice president of marketing for TPx. “We’re focused on bringing the solution that makes the most sense for our customers. We know that they want simplification, affordability and advanced services, and that’s a challenging new bar to clear in today’s business environ- ment. TPx addresses their network- ing, continuity and budget needs and manages the entire solution.” In related news TPx has tapped channel veteran Greg Iuzzolino as director of national channel develop- ment. His appointment completes the leadership of TPx’s National Channel Development Team, which is led by Jim Delis, senior vice president of national channel development, and charged with helping to accelerate TPx’s nation- al expansion by growing its distribution relationships across the country. Iuzzo- lino joins Hilary Gadda and Carl Moore as the company’s three National Chan- nel Development Team leaders. BCN Telecom has teamed up with Military Talent Source, a specialized firm that conducts military recruiting and veteran employment consulting, to source and retain qualified candi- dates for the BCN team. “Our partnership with Military Talent Source continues our company’s long tradition of supporting the military and veterans in both our employee base as well as through our charitable activities,” said Richard M. Boudria Jr., BCN presi- dent and CEO. “Prior to his business ca- reer, our founder and chairman, Richard Boudria, served honorably in the Unites States Marine Corp and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with campaign star and other citations for service in the Vietnam War. He left the Marine Corps at the rank of Captain.” BCN Partners with Military Talent Source icymi TPx Brings Managed Access to Customers Nationwide Channel Vision | January - February, 2018 56
