Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, US and

UK. In addition to geographic expansion,

RingCentral Global Office customers also

now have access to German, French and

UK English language support.

According to IDC, enterprises are

moving forward aggressively with UC&C

deployments driven by voice, video, mo-

bile, business messaging and collabor-

ative apps. Three-quarters of organiza-

tions currently use or plan to use UC&C

solutions during the next 24 months,

and IDC expects a compound annual

growth rate of nearly 24 percent for

total worldwide mobile UC&C for the

period of 2015 to 2019.

“We’re focused on building the

most complete and seamless global

solution for voice, video, conferencing,

messaging and collaboration,” said

Vlad Shmunis, founder, CEO and chair-

man of RingCentral. “We understand

the IT pain points associated with

supporting a multinational business.

Only through the cloud are businesses

able to experience the benefits of a

highly scalable and easy-to-manage

solution that unifies their entire work-

force efficiently and cost effectively.”

PCCW Global

Expands in Africa

PCCW Global,

the international op-

erating division of HKT, Hong Kong’s

main telecommunications service

provider, has selected the Djibouti

Data Center (DDC) to help facilitate

network expansion and the provision

of colocation and undersea fiber

cable access services in East Africa.

The Djibouti Data Center has been

built to tier III data center standards

and serves as a major meeting point

for undersea fiber cable systems.

“The DDC is an important ele-

ment of our wider pan-African de-

velopment and expansion plans,”

Jordick Wong, senior vice president,

product and vendor management,

PCCW Global. “The addition of AAE-1

to PCCW Global’s existing undersea

fiber cable assets in the region will

enable us to provide even more

robust services, along with lower la-

tency and increased diversity, boosting

services levels for our customers.”

He added, “AAE-1 will stretch ap-

proximately 25,000kms and employ

100Gbps technology, with a capacity

of more than 40 terabits to provide

customers with low-latency and direct

connectivity around the world.”

The AAE-1 system will connect Dji-

bouti with Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cam-

bodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand,

Myanmar, India, Pakistan, Oman, UAE,

Qatar, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Egypt,

Greece, Italy and France.

The DDC is uniquely positioned in

East Africa and will enable PCCW Glob-

al to establish cross-connect and co-

location facilities directly adjacent to

Djibouti Telecom’s cable landing sta-

tions. In addition to supporting AAE-1

in the near future, the DDC provides

access to fiber-cable systems such

as EIG, EASSy, Aden-Djibouti,

and Ethiopia-Djibouti.
