Cologix Expands Data

Center in Toronto

Cologix has completed and com-

missioned a major expansion to its

TOR 2 data center, located at 905

King St. West in Toronto. Customers

have immediate access to up to 1MW

of new high-power density data

center capacity.

“Toronto is at the forefront of three

key trends impacting the data center

market: 1) IP traffic interconnecting

closer to the edge in emerging mar-

kets, 2) enterprises outsourcing data

center operations and 3) the rise of

hybrid cloud models,” explained Sean

Maskell, president, Cologix Canada.

“Our TOR 2 expansion is a direct

response to the demand Cologix is

seeing for high availability, highly con-

nected, neutral retail colocation based

on each of these trends.”

Toronto’s data center capacity intro-

duces enterprise cage solutions to the

hot-aisle containment pods and in-row

cooling at the facility.

“Toronto has become one of the

most important markets in North

America and has been a high-growth

market for Cologix,” explained Grant

van Rooyen, CEO, Cologix. “We are

proud to push the market forward

with our new capacity and unique

access to dedicated connectivity to

public clouds like Microsoft Azure

and SoftLayer.”

WTG Joins DSCI’s Partner

Program

DSCI recently announced that WTG,

one of the nation’s top master agents,

has joined the DSCI Channel Partner

Program. WTG now offers DSCI’s uni-

fied communications, managed IT and

Internet connectivity services to its part-

ners, backed by 24/7/365 technical sup-

port from DSCI’s New England-based

customer care team.

DSCI announced in March that it is

merging with TelePacific Communica-

tions in a move that creates a premier

national managed services carrier.

WTG is taking full advantage of that

synergy to expand the solutions it of-

fers, said the companies.

“Being one of TelePacific’s largest

agents enables us to upsell DSCI ser-

vices into our TelePacific base yielding

a much more national service area,”

said Vince Bradley, CEO of WTG.

“The market for managed services

continues to grow at an accelerated

pace, representing a tremendous op-

portunity for both of our organizations,”

said James Maloney, senior vice presi-

dent of sales at DSCI. “We look forward

to working in partnership with WTG to

take advantage of this dynamic market

and drive new business.”

Most SMEs Expect to

Add UC Within 2 Years

Between a third and two-thirds of

all small and medium-sized enterprises

(SMEs) will either add unified communi-

cations or replace existing systems with

UC within the next two years, according

to a recent survey by Jabra.

The study also found that nearly half

of all SMEs believe that having a head-

set to allow employees to keep hands

free while on a call is important, and

mobility is a priority for about one third.

Another study from Jabra found

that call-centric workers, such as

those who support customers or serve

in an advisory capacity, are more pro-

ductive and 25 percent more engaged

in their jobs when enabled with the

right supporting technologies. These

technologies could include advanced

headsets that enable crisp-sounding

calls, offer comfort for long call dura-

tions and include noise-canceling

technologies to insulate from noise

and interruptions.

“Productivity and concentration

are critical in the increasingly com-

petitive small business environment,”

said Mark Derby, vice president,
