Telcordia (d/b/a iconectiv) is proud to have been selected
by the North American Numbering Council (NANC) to
serve as the next Local Number Portability Administrator
(LNPA) for all seven of the U.S. Number Portability
Administration Center (NPAC) regions.
We thank the NANC, the public, the telecommunications
industry including carriers of all sizes and the state,
local and federal law enforcement agencies who
provided extensive commentary during the Federal
Communications Commission’s (FCC’s) fair and open
process. We also wish to thank the FCC for unanimously
recommending that the industry commence negotiations
with iconectiv to serve as the next LNPA.
We look forward to working with the industry, regulators
and the incumbent to ensure a smooth transition so
that carriers and consumers can quickly benefit from
the modernization of services, lower fees and our
proven capabilities, demonstrated through our extensive
experience in numbering administration and critical
telecommunications databases and infrastructures in
the U.S. and globally.
