Global Capacity announced the ex-

pansion of seven One Marketplace

points of resence (PoPs) in its North

American network, including six Eth-

ernet local access aggregation points

and three high performance Ethernet

Backbone points purposely built for the

most demanding cloud, over-the-top

applications and data services. The lo-

cations now Ethernet-enabled include

Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, Pa., Min-

neapolis, Minn., and three new PoPs

in Boston, Mass., Kansas City, Mo.,

and Vienna, Va. The locations added

to the high performance Ethernet

backbone include Kansas City, Minne-

apolis, and Toronto, Ontario.

These high-demand, key aggrega-

tion points enable delivery of diverse

route options, competitive pricing

and a broad selection of network ac-

cess services to One Marketplace

customers, said the company. Eth-

ernet is the technology of choice for

SD-WAN, Hybrid WAN and cloud

connectivity solutions.

PGi

 has launched new product and

service offerings for IT teams trying

to maximize Microsoft Skype for Busi-

ness investments.

These include mobile and global

conference calling: PGi’s conference

calling is integrated into the Skype for

Business experience, with more than

160 international dial-in numbers and

nearly half a million users. Also, Out-

look meeting invitations via CustomIn-

vite allow an enterprise to personalize

the Skype for Business meeting expe-

rience with custom templates. And us-

ing PGi’s Agenday app, digital workers

have a secure way to one-click con-

nect to any conference call while on

their mobile device.

Implementation services include en-

hanced Skype for Business implementa-

tion and adoption processes that drive

better activation rates, and global help

and support is available in-product and

around the clock so IT teams don’t have

to take on the burden of troubleshooting

or supporting end-user questions around

Skype for Business. Consulting services

and strategic planning via PGi’s Modality

Systems subsidiary provides IT leaders

with help to navigate the complexities of

a Skype for Business transition or Micro-

soft Office 365 deployment.

CloudMigrator developer Cloud

Technology Solutions has announced

that it is actively recruiting channel

partners following the launch of its

new self-service cloud migration tool.

CloudMigrator Online allows organi-

zations to carry out their own Google

G Suite migrations through a simple

five step process, removing the need

for external assistance, says the

company. CloudMigrator Online re-

quires less technical knowledge than

the current iteration of the software

and is being targeted at those want-

ing to carry out faster migrations and

drive revenue.

Typically, partners will resell Cloud-

Migrator Online to a customer as part

of a large project and while the tool will

be offered to the CTS’s current partner

base, the company has launched this

aggressive recruitment drive to gain

new partners and accelerate migration

numbers. CloudMigrator is encourag-

ing partners to test drive CloudMigra-

tor Online with a free trial where they

can migrate two user mailboxes to

Google with unrestricted functionality.

Telstra Announces

Programmable Network

Capability

Telstra unveiled plans to offer its soft-

ware defined networking (SDN) and net-

work virtualization capabilities (NFV), cloud

platform and data centers, and global and

Australian networks in one integrated and

intelligent platform that provides network-as-

a-service called the Telstra Programmable

Network. This new network will be program-

mable at its core and enable the automation

and provisioning of services.

It will help businesses quickly add new

capabilities to deliver better experiences

without significant infrastructure upgrades,

says the company. It will also allow simple

and secure access to multiple cloud ser-

vices via a simple user interface.

“Our vision for the Telstra Programma-

ble Network is to help businesses optimize

their IT by offering automated, on-demand

and near real-time provisioning, consump-

tion-based pricing and new data insights

on network usage,” said Jim Fagan, Telstra

director global platforms.

In an important next step in rolling out

the Telstra Programmable Network, Telstra

will implement a significant capability up-

grade of its core international IP network in

the coming months.
