In the buzzy SD WAN category,
Masergywas recognized for Best Chan-
nel Deployment, while
TPx
(formerly
TelePacific) was named for Best En-
abling Technology.
On September 13, 2016, Masergy
added SD-WAN to its global hybrid net-
working portfolio and Managed Network
family of fully managed network func-
tions. The solution supports premises,
cloud and virtualized deployments, and
can utilize any combination of broad-
band and high-performance private
WAN connections. Once connected,
an unlimited number of virtual network
environments and a full line of managed
network functions can be deployed to
create highly customized networks opti-
mized for each client’s unique price and
performance requirements.
In January, TPx rolled out its ITx
WAN solution, powered by SD-WAN in
strategic partnership with VeloCloud.
Use cases are varied, and QoS and pol-
icy support for over-the-top (OTT) solu-
tions, hybrid WAN optimization (for both
TPx circuits or the customer’s BYOB)
and 4G failover.
“This solution allows new deploy-
ment options for customers for internet,
MPLS (hybrid WAN) and continuity,” the
company said. “Our channel partners
now have many more options to meet
customer needs whether it’s our network
or our customers.”
Next,
Ben Bronston
was honored in
the Telecom Regulatory/Legal category.
As Chuck Ward, vice president of global
channels at Masergy, who has worked
with Bronston on several of its top part-
ners sales agreements over the last six
years said: “I have found Ben to be an
advocate of the channel and represent
his clients with honesty and integrity. As
a provider, we may not always agree on
partner terms initially, but I have found
with Ben we have always been able to
find a common ground that we both feel
comfortable with and ultimately serve
the best interest of both parties.”
And finally, for UC and VoI
P, Nectar Services Corp .won for Best Channel
Deployment, and recognition for Best En-
abling Technology went to bot

d VoIP Innovations .Nectar’s Network Assessment Part-
ner Program helps enterprise customers
identify partners that have been certified
to leverage Nectar’s Perspective solu-
tion to design, deploy and report the
results of network assessments for both
cloud and on-premises unified commu-
nications (UC) deployments, including
Microsoft Skype for Business Online.
Preceding the deployment of hosted UC
services, well informed enterprise cus-
tomers will want to confirm that network
connections between their major loca-
tions are capable of supporting antici-
pated voice, video and collaboration traf-
fic. For this type of network assessment,
enterprise customers need a trusted and
comprehensive partner who understands
the complexities of geographically dis-
tributed, multi-vendor UC networks, and
has the assessment tools and skill sets
necessary to thoroughly test the net-
work’s ability to support the enterprise’s
growing UC traffic.
Star2Star Communications’ patented
Constellation Network overcomes the
reliability and quality limitations of other
communications technologies with a hybrid
cloud strategy. The StarBox Cloud Commu-
nications Manager (CCM) at the premises
connects over IP to Star2Star’s Constella-
tion network, running on a collection of call
routing nodes and data centers distributed
across the country. Thus, daily changes in
capacity needs can be handled on the fly,
wherever they’re needed. Plus, using data
collected from the nodes, the system deter-
mines the best call routing to use for each
call placed on every Star2Star customer
system, providing crisp, clear audio on ev-
ery call, with no distortion, echo or delay—
a major differentiator for businesses with
contact centers. Its UC platform has one of
the highest long-term customer retention
rates in the industry at 99.85%.
Pittsburgh-based VoIP Innovations
meanwhile offers origination and termi-
nation with a slew of calling features,
E911 and a hosted billing and back office
platform. The BackOffice Platform, Tita-
nium III, was designed to bridge the gap
between the delivery of VoIP services
and the operational processes needed to
distribute these services. By doing this,
it dramatically reduces the amount of re-
sources and time needed to manage
a VoIP business.
