Virtual Realities
Storage Management
Solution for Partners
SVA Software has launched into North
America with a new Partner Program to
capitalize on the need for storage optimi-
zation solutions, which are designed to
simplify the management of virtualized
data center operations. The SVA Velocity
Partner Program provides system integra-
tors and channel partners the opportunity
to capitalize on solutions for performance
and capacity monitoring and analysis for
IBM SAN Volume Controller (SVC) and
the IBM Storwize family including V9000,
V7000, V5000 and V2700.
SVA Software’s flagship product,
BVQ (Business Volume Qualicision),
provides visibility into the performance,
health and utilization of the entire IBM
virtualized infrastructure. By delivering
granular analysis information, it im-
proves storage efficiency, which reduces
cost and operational risks while also
delivering the insights that enable pro-
active action before business operations
are impacted, said the company.
“BVQ is a solution that we recommend
to our clients with IBM Spectrum Stor-
age environments,” said Matt Cleland, a
director at solutions integrator, Converged
Infrastructure and Storage Solutions at
Sirius Computer Solutions. “BVQ gives us
the visibility and deep inspection to help
our clients properly architect and optimize
their virtualized storage.”
Included in the program is the turnkey
offering to deliver the BVQ Health Check.
This limited engagement works to ana-
lyze a customers’ current storage state,
resulting in a comprehensive assessment
report that delivers findings, recommen-
dations and actionable insights for storage
environment optimization.
SVA Software’s BVQ solution works to
guide strategic investments and configura-
tion decisions based on actionable perfor-
mance information – taking the guesswork
out of storage procurement, said Don
Mead, senior vice president of marketing
and partner enablement for SVA Software.
“With our new partner program, we are
extending this opportunity to IBM Spectrum
Storage channel partners, so that they can
deliver the valuable insights customers
need to optimize their virtualized storage
environments with confidence and ease.”
TelePacific Launches
National SD-WANOffering
TelePacific has moved SD-WAN from
a declaration of strategic intent to real-
world general availability. It has signed a
long-term contract with VeloCloud Net-
works to provide the foundation tech-
nology that is now delivering its unified
communications, managed IT and man-
aged services to businesses across the
country, a move TelePacific says “super-
charges the national expansion begun
by the acquisition of leading managed
services provider DSCI in September.”
Using TelePacific’s VeloCloud-powered
SD-WAN solution, customers can turn up
new locations, add or delete services and
monitor their network performance through
a single cloud-based integrated software
system. TelePacific’s managed services
platform, enabled by SD-WAN, starts when
an easy-to-deploy, software-programmable
device is plugged into any customer broad-
band connection to the Internet, says the
company. Almost immediately, the TelePa-
cific cloud pushes the exact configuration
needed to fill the customer’s requirements
to the device and, within minutes, their or-
dered services are up and running.
“We piloted this with customers
across the country, to rave reviews,” says
Jared Martin, vice president of TelePa-
cific’s ITx Managed Services business.
“We can deliver TelePacific products and
services using SD-WAN anywhere that a
customer has a broadband connection,
with the same guaranteed performance
that businesses and enterprises of all
kinds depend on us to deliver.”
This is a big departure from the
complicated, expensive installations of
hardware and cables typically needed
to provision new services, said the com-
pany. Since it manages the end-to-end
delivery, TelePacific can deploy multiple
continuity and security levels to guaran-
tee performance. That ability to manage
everything from throughput to continu-
ity on a single pane of glass means
TelePacific has expanded its traditional
five nines performance guarantee to a
simple 100 percent guarantee.
“We already have more than
100,000 hosted communications seats,
and the ability to be truly transport-
agnostic is going to make that number
explode,” said Martin.
Initially, TelePacific UCx suite is the
flagship offering utilizing SD-WAN ca-
pabilities, with the nationwide SD-WAN
option in full general availability for new
UCx orders.
