Fusion Names Kennedy-

Toney VP of Marketing

nounced that Gina Kennedy-Toney, a

technology industry veteran with more

than 20 years of experience, has been

promoted to the position of vice presi-

dent of marketing. Reporting to Jan Sar-

ro, executive vice president of Fusion’s

Marketing and Business Development

team, Kennedy-Toney will focus on mar-

keting strategies to support Fusion’s key

growth initiatives.

  Prior to Fusion, Kennedy-Toney

was successful in positions at Nortel,

Raindance (now InterCall), Genesys and

PGi where she held marketing, manage-

ment, executive management and sales

roles for the channel, direct and indirect

technology markets.

  “Gina has the passion as well as

the experience to understand, communi-

cate and execute the marketing strate-

gies and campaigns that drive revenue,”

said Sarro. “She leads by example, mo-

tivates those around her and is highly

respected by her peers in the industry.”

TelePacific a PlanetOne

Preferred Provider

nounced an alliance with

PlanetOne Communications,

whereby TelePacific

becomes a PlanetOne Preferred Pro-

vider. The deal means PlanetOne will

distribute TelePacific’s set of managed

services, continuity and connectivity so-

lutions to small, medium and enterprise

businesses through PlanetOne’s net-

work of VARs, MSPs and agents.

“As one of the top master agents

in the country, PlanetOne is selec-

tive about the providers it adds to its

portfolio. Being named a PlanetOne

Preferred Provider is an opportunity af-

forded to only a few,” said Ken Bisnoff,

senior vice president of strategic op-

portunities for TelePacific.

Earlier this year, Los-Angeles-based

TelePacific acquired Massachusetts-

based DSCI, evolving from a regional pro-

vider to a national provider with offices

coast-to-coast. In addition, DSCI’s UCx

unified communications solution and ITx

managed IT services bolster TelePacific’s

managed services offerings.

GTT Adds U.S. Points of Presence

GTT Communications

recently an-

nounced the launch of four new points

of presence (PoPs) in the United States:

San Diego, Calif.; Detroit, Mich.; Chan-

dler, Ariz.; and McAllen, Texas. The move

extends GTT’s tier 1 global network, while

the McAllen PoP in particular serves as

a key interconnection point for organiza-

tions that require reach into Central and

South America, said the company.

The new PoPs follow the launch of

several other points of presence on

GTT’s network earlier this year in the

Middle East and Australia.

Tech Data Signs on with Quest

Tech Data Corporation 

has been

named an authorized distributor of

Quest Software.

Through the agreement,

Tech Data will provide Quest products

and services to its channel of resell-

ers in the United States and Canada

through its Advanced Infrastructure So-

lutions (AIS) division.

Tech Data will offer Quest’s portfolio

of more than 100 solutions that address

security, IT and cloud management, in-

cluding database management, data pro-

tection, endpoint systems management

and Microsoft platform management.

Tech Data’s dedicated Quest team can

assist with deal registration, special pric-

ing requests, configurations, complemen-

tary product-attach services, opportunity

development and pipeline management.

The team is also equipped to offer busi-

ness development planning that incor-

porates partner resource allocation for

sales and technical training, market sup-

port and demand generation.

Telia Carrier, WTG Team Up

Telia Carrier

announced a new part-

nership with WTG through which the Cali-

fornia-based master agent will offer Telia

Carrier’s complete suite of IP, wavelength

and Ethernet services to its network

of more than 3,000 agents, VARs and

MSPs. Telia Carrier was the first carrier

with a 100G enabled backbone in both

Europe and North America. The company

enables worldwide connectivity by con-

necting more than 200 points of pres-

ence across Europe, North America, Asia

and the Middle East including more than

70 points of presence in North America.

“We do a large amount of internation-

al business and our agents have seen

significant demand for Telia Carrier’s ser-

vices,” said Vince Bradley, WTG CEO. “We

are elated to now include its top-ranked

network services in our portfolio.”

Zayo to Acquire

. With Electric Lightwave,

Zayo gains a facilities-based regional

fiber network provider with a presence in

key West Coast markets including San

Francisco, Portland, Seattle and Sacra-

mento, among others. Electric Lightwave

operates an 8,100 route mile long haul

fiber network and targets SMBs, enter-

prise and wholesale markets in its West

Coast metro areas.

The acquisition, which is to be funded

through a mixture of cash on hand and

debt, will give Zayo Group Inc. more than

12,000 miles of fiber in the Western part

of the U.S. Zayo, which sells fiber-based

connectivity offerings to fixed and mobile

telcos, enterprises and public sector bod-

ies, has been rapidly expanding its foot-

print in North America and Europe.
