.S. business and consumer markets
have changed dramatically since
passage of the Telecommunica-
tions Act of 1996, the biggest revi-
sion of U.S. telecommunications
framework since the 1934 Com-
munications Act, and more far-reaching than the 1984
breakup of the AT&T system.
Perhaps a notable example is the fact that total tele-
communications revenue has nearly doubled since 1996.
If you are in the business customer segment, that doesn’t
necessarily sound right.
