Mitel Boosts Leadership in Asia
Mitel has appointed new leadership in Asia, naming Henry
Lu and Sean Foo as vice presidents.
The appointments signal Mitel’s advance into the region for mo-
bile-first and cloud-enabled solutions, delivered via channel partners.
“Focused on building relationships with carriers and chan-
nel partners, Henry Lu and Sean Foo strengthen Mitel’s value
proposition in mainland China and Southeast Asia as we con-
tinue to expand our global footprint and make strides towards
fulfilling the promise of our vision for the mobile enterprise,”
said Bob Agnes, Mitel’s executive vice president and general
manager, APAC.
Lu recently served as general manager of sales for JDS
China. Prior to that, he held business development positions at
Agilent and Tektronix. He will spearhead initiatives from Mitel’s
office in Beijing.
“In Asia, there is a growing demand for technologies such
as unified communications as a service, as well as mobile and
cloud-based solutions,” said Foo. “Widespread adoption of
smart devices is driving many organizations to leapfrog from
traditional TDM solutions to fixed-mobile convergence. Mitel’s
cloud portfolio and mobile innovations make it well positioned
to serve this market.”
“Mobile, LTE, cloud and NFV are all hot topics in the Chi-
nese market – areas in which Mitel has unparalleled expertise,
so the potential for Mitel in China is huge,” Lu said. “I am
honored to join the company at such a pivotal moment and look
forward to showcasing Asia as an innovator in the world of busi-
ness communications.”
Spectralink Builds Out EMEA
Presence with MD Hire
Spectralink has appointed Simon Rayne as managing direc-
tor of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), to further ad-
vance its channel strategy and overall presence in the region.
Rayne brings deep experience in the European telecom
landscape from his recent role with Microsoft Devices
& Services. Before that, he served as head of sales retail
Europe for Sony Ericsson, and worked extensively with a
diverse portfolio of EMEA channel segments. Optimizing
the evolving routes to market for mobile devices, Rayne’s
experience inn enterprise channel funnel conversion will be
instrumental in accelerating Spectralink’s growing global
business, the company said.
“I am excited to join Spectralink and look forward to ex-

across Europe and the EMEA region,” Rayne said. “As mobile
communications devices continue to revolutionize the work-
place, I see significant potential for growth in our core verticals
of healthcare, retail and beyond.”
This appointment follows continued product and distribu-
tion investments to support the EMEA region. By year-end,
Spectralink will open a Denmark-based distribution center to
provide just-in-time shipping, support and delivery of product
across the EMEA region. This location will also serve as a
repair and return depot to support Spectralink’s EMEA custom-
ers’ warranty and maintenance needs. The entire Spectralink
product portfolio will ship from this hub, driving accelerated
delivery and reduced costs for customers and partners.
“Our expanding investment in EMEA will benefit from
the hiring of a seasoned mobile communications executive
like Simon,” said Dan Mondor, CEO of Spectralink. “Simon’s
knowledge base and network across EMEA will strengthen our
alliance partnerships, expand our reach into new verticals and
drive increased customer intimacy.”
He added, “In our just-completed Voice of the Customer
survey, customers and partners reinforced that voice quality and
mobile device durability continue to be their critical buying
triggers when selecting mobile communications devices. Our
brand legacy is built on this foundation, and this will continue
to be a key area of investment as we expand our portfolio of
purpose-built devices for the workplace.”
Telarix Adds Roke Telkom,
Encore to Carrier Roster
Telarix has announced Roke Telkom and Encore have
selected the iXLink price list automation after the release of
Smart Links.
“Encore has a mandate to work and grow our business with
PTTs and Tier 1 carriers worldwide, and iXLink is the stan-
dard way most are requiring us to send and receive rates,” said
Wayne Silver, CEO of Encore. “If you want to be taken seriously
in our hyper-competitive business, then iXLink is a must for
your business. It’s a tool we know we can grow with as our
business grows.”
Smart Links is an automated trading platform that uti-
lizes a carrier’s business intelligence to completely automate
trading between carriers. The tool allows carriers to create
financially sound target buy and sell lists utilizing set busi-
ness rules and data. The lists are automatically sent to ven-
dors and vendors are able to match opportunities, creating an
automated buying process.
“We’ve been constantly innovating by adding new modules
and features in iXLink; automated trading via Smart Links is
the latest modules carriers across the globe have asked for,”
said Tucker Davidson, vice president of global development for
Telarix. “By purchasing iXLink, Roke Telkom and Encore have
positioned themselves to take full advantage of their vendor
relationships, including Smart Links.”
“We see iXLink as a necessary component to our business
strategy,” added Roger Sekaziga, CEO at Roke Telkom. “We
have already seen significant efficiencies from utilizing the
software, and we know our adoption of it makes us much more
attractive to our vendors. As Smart Links continues to be em-
braced, we know we are in a great position for growth.”
