Barracuda Networks Inc. has introduced two new versions of Barracuda NextGen Firewall – Intronis MSP Edition.
The virtual and public cloud firewalls are sold as subscription services and leverage Barracuda’s technology, going beyond traditional next-generation security to performance and connectivity to safely enable virtual and cloud-based environments.
“The ever-changing business and threat landscape is driving MSPs to seek out new and innovative ways to protect their customers against data loss,” said Brian Babineau, GM, MSP Solutions, at Barracuda. “By adding virtual and public cloud firewall deployment options to our growing line-up of data protection and security solutions, we are providing MSPs with even more choices when it comes to protecting their customers’ virtual, physical, and hybrid environments.”
The virtual version of Barracuda NextGen Firewall – Intronis MSP Edition provides MSPs with a turnkey solution designed to protect networks running in VMware, Citrix XenServer, KVM and Hyper-V virtualized environments, while the public cloud options provide secure connectivity for Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Service (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform.
The virtual firewall solution is ideal for customers looking to scale their virtual deployments faster and more dynamically, operate in environments that are 100-percent virtualized or reduce their investment in dedicated hardware. Additionally, MSPs offering hosting services can leverage the virtual firewall to reduce their customers’ hardware footprint.
Optimizing the performance, security, and availability of today’s networks through integrated WAN optimization, the virtual and public cloud versions of Barracuda NextGen Firewall – Intronis MSP Edition also feature a dedicated centralized management console. Similar to the physical version of Barracuda NextGen Firewall – Intronis MSP Edition, the virtual firewall can be controlled through a single control center that makes it easier to deploy common security policies across multiple units and multiple customers.
Offering access to real-time information about the firewall deployment, the centralized console enables MSPs to generate reports on one or all of their Barracuda NextGen Firewalls, or create pre-configured templates for easy rollout. Together, these features increase system availability for the MSP’s customers while keeping administrative time and operation costs in check.
The virtual and public cloud versions of the firewall fit easily into a variety of environments that MSPs support. To create a robust service package for their customers, MSPs can bundle the new offerings with Intronis’ other data protection solutions including the Intronis ECHOplatform, which enables IT service providers to securely protect businesses’ physical and virtual data through a rebrandable software-only solution, and Barracuda Backup – Intronis MSP Edition, a subscription-based data protection solution that simplifies business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) service delivery.
Intronis MSP Solutions’ fixed-fee pricing simplifies budgeting and planning for MSPs, and as an added advantage, with the virtual firewall MSPs can reduce the management associated with physical hardware, such as shipping costs, upgrades and replacement.
