Brightspeed Nears Fiber Internet Goal in Rural Ohio

Brightspeed is actively connecting homes and businesses in rural communities near Columbus and Dayton, Ohio, to its high-speed fiber network. More than 13,700 of 23,854 planned locations in Eaton, Greenville, Hebron and Russells Point currently have access, according to HighSpeedInternet.com Annual Service Provider Review 2025, with more than 19,400 additional locations planned for Mount Vernon and Pataskala, the company said.

Approximately 60 percent of Ohio residents are without access to a fiber internet plan, according to BroadbandNow. Once Brightspeed completes its buildout in Central and Western Ohio, more than 43,000 families and businesses—about 73 percent of the combined population—will have access to the company’s multigig-speed service, Brightspeed officials said.

Brightspeed’s network platform is capable of providing broadband and telecommunications services to more than 7.3 million homes and businesses across 20 states.
